I am a cheesehead transplant in TX. I'll be brutally honest with myself first that because of my weight, I don't get out much and don't meet many people. Being a stay at home mom really enables me to "hide" from the world if you will. I feel like a skinny girl wearing a fat suit and it's not working for me. I'm doing my best to get my self-esteem back but most of all, getting my health back that was deteriorating. I was just on the border of taking cholesterol medication, I have a low thyroid condition that is fluctuating all over the place, scared of the thought that I could get diabetes, and just getting to the point where I couldn't move the way I used to made me want to change!!

I tried Weight Watchers in May of 2008 and failed bad! Jan 2009 I decided to try Weight Watchers again and so far to date, weight is coming off because I stuck to the plan and added exercise.

My WW suscription ran out so I decided to use spark people and try something new. I'm trying to find my way around this site but I'm a quick learner and I'm sure I will do just fine.

I started 2009 telling myself (yes...a New Years resolution) I am going to do some big things in 2009 and somehow the Susan G. Koman 3-day Walk for Breast Cancer, and losing weight were my 2 big things. I need that exercise to get ready for such a great cause! Because I'm a stay at home mom and the thought of a year passing me by and not doing something big to "pay it forward" wasn't an option.

I would love to add more people as friends from the DFW area, or just people that are motivated, fun and driven! Also, anyone in my area that would like to work out with me and challenge me would be super! :)

My Program:
staying in my calorie guidelines, exercising as much as I can and pushing myself while exercising, watching what I put in my body and try to eliminate things like msg, saturated fats, hydrogenated oils, etc.

    Thank you for adding me as a friend. I have lupus and fibromayalgia, and I'm trying to get healthy, not just skinny again. I want to boost my immune system and get my energy back. I am having a flare and trouble with allergic reactions to my lupus meds. I feel a little better today, I hope I can make it to the gym today. You are an inspiration! emoticon
