MAY -

Oh, my, where did April go?? Sometimes in the cold of winter we feel it will never be warm again - and, here we are, temperatures in the high 80s and the 90s in the forecast for next week!!

We have lots of Birthdays this month. My oldest daughter, Vicki, has a birthday today, the 9th. My youngest son, Gordon, celebrates the 21st and the middle son, Geoff, will be a year older on the 29th. Then my grandson in-law, Jonathan, has a birthday the 27th and my great-grandson, Aiden, will be 3 the 29th.

I have tried to focus on a special goal each month - and for the month of May it is to be thankful to God for all He has continued to shower me with each day. I am truly amazed as I look back over my life and all the times He has provided and protected me.

Knitting is becoming an addiction!! I now have quite a collection of patterns that I just have to make. Loving the knitting group that I meet with each week - so much fun. We even had a full page in the paper last week - with pictures and all!!

Good morning Barb,
Hope everything is well with you.
I've just been popping in and out again the last few days as I had a 48 hour bug thing but my tooth is sorted now and I feel much better.
I hope you son got his migrainne sorted, I suffered for years with that so know what it's like, it evenually stopped with the menopause as it turned out to be hormone related and a great relief when it did.

The weather is variable, it's rained all night and is fine this morning but it's a very cold north wind.
DH's potatoes, squashes and beans have appeared but really we still have spring things in flower and not a lot of anything else...even some trees are still leafless! I planted my patio tubs up a couple of weeks ago, the pansies are doing fine but the french marigolds are very small and leafy rather than flowers and the lobelia is all leaf too!

Have a great day emoticon

Glad you didn't indulge on the cookies...lol...but it's a nice gift for your friend.

Our weather is acting up, today it's cold, windy and pouring down. In fact the rain started yesterday tea time and hasn't let up. We could do with it for the garden as it's been very dry for a few weeks now but I don't like the summer forecast of rain they've given, it sounds like it's set to stay until autumn and the flooding we had in spring hasn't gone down a lot!

The quilt exhibition was wonderful, I've put a few photos on flickr, but it's just a small selection. They raised over three thousand pounds to split between the church and the air ambulance...magnificent!

Have a good day, I'm still nursing this tooth abscess which has filled up again and is quite painful so I won't be going far! emoticon

Thanks so much for commenting on my blog! I hope the little veggie/fruit bags are a hit at your house too!!

Its great that you've found a way to drink more water too! I have to work hard on that. I find (oddly) that I really enjoy a cup of hot water. I boil the water, like you would for tea and pour it in a nice tea cup or coffee mug. Guilt free and goes down easier for me.

Hi Barb thanks for stopping by my activity feed today. I did a "little" gardening today too, you can log that as exercise under home activities and then scroll to gardening. emoticon

Good morning Barb, you sound like you're getting out and about a bit, glad you're enjoying it.

We had a hectic week-end, it was the long May bank holiday week-end and we were out almost every day, sometimes walking on our own and other times with family.
The weather was glorious for a change, bank holidays are notorious for wet weather. It's changed again now...lol...strong winds and showers which is good as we haven't had any rain in weeks!
It's not enough rain though and they're already saying there could be a water shortage in the summer, it seems so odd after all the flooding we had earlier in the year!

I'm going to a quilting exhibition this afternoon, I'm really looking forward to it and hoping to take pictures if it's allowed!

Have a lovely week-end, it's Mother's Day with you isn't it? emoticon
