My Goals:
My goals are to strengthen and tone my body, inside and out. My next goal is to lower my blood pressure and cholesterol so I can stop taking those medications. Also to use my nutrition to raise my potassium so I can stop taking that medication too! Finally, it is my goal to manage my reaction to certain known stressors in my life by addressing sleep issues, food, and fitness.
My Program:
I track my food and fitness daily and have made major changes to what and how I eat. I have connected with others on Spark Teams, including the Stress Busters! I journal regularly, keep a sleep journal, and have even attempted a blog or two. I remind myself how much I have to be grateful for and I give encouragement and support to those in my circle of influence.
Personal Information:
Since I was young, I have always been positive and happy and goal-oriented. I find myself, now, in unfamiliar territory dealing with the effects of a newly employed (!!! YAYAYAYAY!) but formerly underemployed husband (for the last three years). At the same time, dealing with my oldest, who should be a college junior but has made some really poor decisions, while my youngest is starting high school. I am grateful they are both healthy and happy, and I am working to allow them to develop independently and learn from their mistakes. (The youngest is incredibly conscientious ... I feel confident in his decision making.) I also have a profession that I LOVE!! But my administration is awful and terrorizing. I am learning to manage the stress of my work environment. I manage to keep it all together externally, but my blood pressure, cholesterol, and weight have sky rocketed in only the last two years...no surprise why!
Other Information:
I'm a Jane Austen junkie! I have also watched the "West Wing" series from beginning to end about 20 times! I'm a college professor and LOVE my work! I love people!
