Motivated to get strong!

The cycle continues: lost weight for my daughter's wedding. I felt really good, but didn't feel like I had a handle on a life-long change. Basically lost the weight to fit into my dress. Over the next 14 months put back on almost all I had lost. So I'm starting over again.

I have a really good friend and we have committed to supporting each other in our life-style change. We live about 30 miles apart but found a club half way in between. We met with a trainer yesterday and are ready to go. She is setting up a workout for each of us and we will push each other to keep on track.
No more excuses when I don't feel like working out. I have someone to answer to. This is the only way I seem to be able to keep going.
I did have an injury during that "gaining time" that set me back from Oct-Feb. But I'm recovered and ready to go.

The ones doubles league is a USTA league of 2 to 4 players. Usually played outdoors at the convenience of the two teams playing. You can see if you have it in your area at tennis link under advanced league search. In our section at the 3.5 level, we have around 19 teams this year. Hoping they'll make up some flights. It sounds like you have some fun tennis planned too, I've never heard of what you are doing either. I felt pretty good about the way I played in the tournament, always things to work on. Got to watch some of the 4.5 players after one of my matches, the footwork was really impressive, Its seems like they are always ready for that next shot. Its not always about the power, amazing how well they were placing the ball.
Hope you have a great time playing. congrats again on your weight loss.
Mary

Great Job, on your weight loss. Are you going to be playing in the USTA ones doubles, this summer? I really like it, the teams are smaller, and the atmosphere a little more casual. Anyway great job.
