I am officially 30 years old. I am in the best shape now than I have ever been, which was my first goal when I joined spark people. I have to say I am amazed I did it. I am also very proud of myself.
I have recently had to take some time off from exercise due to Achilles tendinitis...very painful and virtually impossible to even walk.
Due to the fact my exercise was down I notice I am a little jiggly in some areas where I don't really want to be. I would like to lose a few pounds but more importantly I want to tone and firm those areas that have been the hardest hit from my time off. The good news is, I haven't gained any weight back:)
1/5/10: My time off had worse consequences than I thought:
Upper Arm: 10.5 in.
Bust: 36 in. (around the fullest part)
Waist: 30 in. (up from 28)
Hips: 35 in.
Thigh: 20 in.
This is really disheartening. I will be working hard over the next couple of weeks to get my waist size down.
5/10/09: Ran my first 5k. Sea Dog Mother's Day 5k.
5/11/09: I have lost 12 pounds on Spark People since February 2009.
5/16/09: Hot Pursuit 5K: 28:31 PR (my second 5k)
5/16/09: I am down to 122.4 and holding. I am going to stay here for a while (I think) and reevaluate my wants and needs concerning my body. Might stay here, might lose some more weight. Still going to work on strength and toning.
5/20/09: Bought a pair of racing flats. Can't wait to try them out!! They are totally obnoxious and bright red, they are great.
5/22/09: So much for my plan of staying at 122.4, I am now at 120.6 and I wasn't trying to do it. I have officially hit my goal. Might have something to do with the stress I am having at work. When stressed, I tend to have gastrointestinal issues, (to put it nicely). We'll see!
5/2309: When I weighed myself yesterday it was in the afternoon. I weighed naked this morn before food and the magic number is, 119.2!
5/26/09: I am officially in what I am calling phase 2 of my new life/body. I have met my goal weight plus an extra pound taking me to 119 lb (phase 1). I am 5'2" so this is a good weight for me.
I will now begin to ramp up the strength training. I have been doing it all along but probably not as often as I should have.
Here are my goals starting today:
1. Do 30 day shred again, this time with 5 and 8 lb weights.
2. Write up a strength training plan and stick to it.
3. Utilize the weight bench in the basement.
4. Build muscle and burn some of the extra fat I still have.
I would like to be able to trim down my waist some more. I lost quite a few inches, however, there is still some baby fat there. I don't know how much is extra skin and how much is fat, but we will see!
Next Race: July 11, 2009 Moxie Day 5k: didn't make it to the race.
My goal was to lose 14 pounds by June 2009 and I have done that. My new goal is more strength training and toning. I would like to see a marked difference in the way I look now by August.
I live on an island (yes there is a bridge) on the beautiful, rocky coast of Maine with my 3 kiddos and wonderful husband.
I find 4 leaf clovers EVERYWHERE. I even had one tattooed on my foot so if my luck runs out, I will always see one when I look down.
