Mindful Eating (Mind Full - So Eating)

I'm 48, a mom to twins, and career woman (Systems Analyst). I lost 40 pounds in 2011, but I gained it all back. My problem is that I don't plan well, and I lost perspective on portion sizes. I sit at my desk at home all day, and go to the kitchen and stare at the pantry to de-stress. I eat for comfort, although I am already very comfortable. I have a great life. I am still learning things about myself, and I have to figure this out on my own. Here I am again!

It starts when ...

It starts when you turn the corner. You know it when it happens. That feeling of I have to do something because I am so miserable being obese. I got on the scale (first time in over a year). I am going to walk today, and stretch out. I am going to start planning healthy, tasty, nutritious meals for myself. I am going to reduce going out to eat and processed foods, because that tends to make me want to eat more and I can't control the ingredients. I am going to track my food and exercise on SP. I am going to follow blogs and get on SP every day for motivation. It's a great resource. I am hiring a personal trainer. I need to figure out how to stay focused and finally do this thing.

Thank you so much for the Spark Goodie! I am so completely blown away by all of the responses to my blog! It is amazing because I have really been struggling the past week or so with cold/flu like symptoms and just want to eat what I want and lay on the couch all evening :) All of this encouragement and love has inspired me to keep going!
