Hi all, I currently live in a village on the west coast of Scotland and discovered this site by chance - I'm glad I did 'cos as my login name suggests, I have the goal but am easily tempted...

I've always been a few pounds overweight and pretty unfit but to be honest it never really bothered me (except when looking for the elusive size 12 jeans that could make me look like a size 8!!! uk size). :o)

It was only when I was told to lose weight in preparation for an operation that I had the motivation to give weight loss a try and to my complete surprise I managed to lose 20lbs in 4.5 months through diet and excercise.

Unfortunately, once I had the op, my recovery was a lot slower than expected and as I was unable to excercise the weight slowly crept back on. At first this was a good thing as I didnít really suit being quite so thin but over time I started to feel that all my hard work was being undone though I found it really difficult to get the motivation to get back on the right track. I started back at the gym 5 months post op but I was really just going through the motions and applied no real effort and my diet was full of chocolate, cakes and overly large portions of everything.

I then stumbled on this website and it seemed to kick start my new approach to life. I know I lost the weight a bit too fast last time (although I did have a deadline from the hospital) and I hope that this time I will have a more healthy attitude towards food and the gym.
