Ver's Progress

Hey, I'm Cris. I'm generally known online as Ver, but I'll answer to either one. :) I'm 28 years old and looking to lose quite a bit of weight. I joined Spark a couple of years ago but didn't really use it like I'd planned (*cough* several times *cough*), but I finally got with the program and lost a bunch of weight. I still have another 50 pounds or so I'd like to lose, though. I'm hoping to get to 120 pounds, which is at the very high end of my healthy weight range for my height because I'm ...
I'm hoping to get to 120 pounds, which is at the very high end of my healthy weight range for my height because I'm practically a midget... but we'll see how I feel when I get there. If I'm good with the way I look, great, if not... I'll keep going until I do. :D

It's been a bumpy ride, to say the least. I've been "maintaining" for a lot longer than I've actually been actively trying to lose. What can I say, it's a work in progress.

My Rewards:
I've read that rewarding yourself for weight loss can be counterproductive, and I did honestly evaluate my reward system here after I read that. However, I decided to keep this in place. Why? There's nothing on this list that's a particularly strong incentive. They're things I want, yes (or in the case of clothes shopping, something of practicality)- that's why they're rewards. But it's nothing that I have to have ZOMGRIGHTNOW- they can wait. So the rewards aren't the reason I'm losing weight. It's just that... I always feel guilty for spending money like this, so the weight points give me "permission" to make the purchases, so to speak. It makes me feel less guilty because I've "earned" it. I know I've gone on a while here, but that's my take on the rewards system.
(The rewards system goes by weights on the Wii, for the record, since that's what I started out on.)
200: New video game: FFXIII~! DONE
180: Tiny Toons on DVD! DONE
160: Kindle :3
140: Death Note on DVD!
120: PSP plus 1 or 2 games?
Final Goal Weight, whatever that may be: Big clothes shopping trip!

Basic Stats (For comparison later):
At starting... 4/6/10 (Original, not yearly restart)
Wii Weight: 216.3 (All time high... is around 220 I think.)
BMI: 43.6 (I'm 4'11, that's why this is so high. XD)
Dress size: 2X, sometimes a 3X depending
Pants size: Depends, but usually 18/20 or 20/22. The Lane Bryant special ones put me as a Blue 2 (3 on a bad day).
Bra size: 42F
Shoe size: Varies greatly depending on the shoe- can go anywhere from 5 to 7 1/2. I have a lot of issues with shoes because my feet are little but wide.
---
More current... 6/1/11
Wii Weight: 161.6
BMI: 32.58
Dress size: Generally XL, sometimes L
Pants size: 14- sometimes even a 12/14! :D
Bra size: 40DDD
Shoe size: No change that I've noticed. Too bad, I was hoping they'd get less wide. :/

I've found that weekly check-ins are a more accurate view of weight loss, as opposed to daily weigh-ins... so I'm doing that here. The weekly BMI/weight check to make sure I'm on the right track! ^^ It serves as a bit of a reality check when the scale is going the wrong way. (Note: All are according to Wii Fit Plus. I'm not responsible for any potential weight/BMI inaccuracies. ^^ Also, these will not match my ticker because what I use on the ticker is a different scale, so different weights. But I started this on the Wii, so I'm continuing doing my "official" weekly weigh in's on that scale.)

New Start: 34.58- 171.5 pounds
Week 1: 32.76- 162.5- Lost 9 pounds (Honestly, I think this is the Wii finally straightening itself out. At least, one can hope.)
Week 2: 32.84- 162.9- Gained .4 pounds
Week 3: 32.62- 161.8- Lost 1.1 pounds
Week 4: 33.47- 166- Gained 4.2 pounds
Week 5: 32.62- 161.8- Lost 4.2 pounds
Week 6: 33.91- 168.2- Gained 6.4 pounds
Week 7: 32.67- 162- Lost 6.2 pounds
Week 8: 32.58- 161.6- Lost .4 pounds

My Goals:
Currently working toward: 160 pounds, yosh! *fistpumps*

Replace soda with water and then some. Doing this.

I need to learn how to cook without burning things or giving myself food poisoning so I can stop relying on convenience foods.

I need to stop letting small fluctuations in weight bother me. I have been known to gain up to 5 pounds some months during PMS and then it disappears again- I really, really need to not freak when this happens.

I need to not slack off, especially on working out and drinking enough water. "I don't feel like it" is not an excuse.

My Program:
I'm trying to save up for a bunch of things, which doesn't leave a lot of money left over for foodstuffs (and we all know healthy food is more expensive than the garbage), so for right now I'm going to be concentrating on things like drinking more water, cutting soda out, and exercise. I'm doing switch outs like wheat bread for white, grilled chicken instead of fried, etc. I'm not technically counting calories because I can't stand doing that stuff, but I'm trying to cut down on the number of calories I consume in a day, and I'm keeping a rough estimate going in my head of how many calories I've had. Seems to be working for me so far.

I love books, video games, scrapbooking, photography, and anime, and to be honest most of my time is spent on those things.
