New Goal!

Haven't been on here for a while...!

Reason for return?

I've signed up to do the Oxfam 100km Trailwalker Challenge in April next year and need to track my fitness and nutrition.

Everyone thinks I'm mad; I'm thinking it's going to be a blast...!

The challenge will be more than physical - everyone has to enter as a team of 4 and you must all finish together; for me, this is an excellent way to learn trust and patience again...I've worked for ...

Have a programme mapped out and the long walks have begun...we'll be walking for somewhere between 20-24 hours without sleeping when we hit the starting line....oh yah!

My Goals:
Oxfam 100km Trailwalker Challenge in April next year:

- finish in under 24 hours.

- finish with all my team members intact, and still talking to each other!

- raise at least $2500 for Oxfam.

My Program:
Get up at 5.30am for training 6 days a week.

Complete at least one long offroad walk every week, building from 3hr length to 10hr length at peak.

Cook most meals at home from scratch using fresh ingredients, ensuring Protein-Carb-Fat ratio is sufficient for needs.

Gentle afternoon walks every day.

Do something I really enjoy every day.

Instead of living like today is my last, live today like I'll still be alive and vibrant at 100.

I appreciate your comment on "the Slowest Loser". You seem unshakeably optimistic and maybe a touch literal minded (I guess). The list shows how I pre-qualify for "The Slowest Loser" show!

(Perhaps you don't know that on Quiz shows, people have to pre-qualify before they become contestants ?) For the record, I did lose 7 pounds in 4-1/2 months with SP. It did not come off in the right places and I am very close to my weight goal. I'd weighed nearly 85 pounds more than now when I was 24, and been heavy until age 49 (with occasional dips to normal weight that lasted only a few months at a time).

Above all, this was a little tongue in cheek ... JOKE! I want Bruce to get "High Ratings" on his Show!

Hello! Just read your comments, very interesting. I've been a member of Spark for awhile, joined because I now live in Brazil and was needing support in weight loss goals. I have lost and kept off the weight but now am very interested in maybe getting rid of alcohol altogether. I am struggling with this. I work really hard and living here is also a huge task and at the end of the day I feel like is having a glass of wine or two (or like tonight a tequila) a huge problem? I don't know, but if I have to ask myself this question maybe it is! Touch base if you can or wish to. Have a great evening.
