I wanted to be able to enjoy my retirement and now I do!
Hi All! My name is Becky and my sister Susiemt said it was time to update my spark page. Well here goes. Hi All! My name is Becky and my sister Susiemt said it was time to update my spark page. Well here goes. When I first joined spark 4 years ago my husband and I were going to retire in the next five years. I have been retired for 2 1/2 years now and it is wonderful. I am so happy I started my journey a couple of years before, because now I feel just great. I have lost over 170 lbs and am able to do all of the things I couldn't do before like, walk great distances without losing my breath, ride a bicycle, put on a swim suit, play with my grandson, go hiking etc. It has been a long journey with no end in sight but really well worth every minute. My normal day as a retiree goes something like this: The first thing in the morning after coffee my sister and I usually walk or ride our bikes (weather permitting) over to the fitness center where we do our cardio and strength training. It usually takes about an hour and a half to accomplish this and then it is the walk or the ride home. Sometimes we take longer bike rides but with the weather (Hot) being what it has been this season we just usually call it quits and head for home and our wonderful lunch. We have collected many healthy recipes from spark and we have the best lunches on the planet. The rest of the day is filled with sparking, shopping or helping my youngest daughter out with her son which I might add is a joy. I wish anyone who reads this much success on your journey. Remember that it takes a whole lot of work and self discipline but it is so worth it. I read this quote from Velvetlady and I really liked it a lot. Always bear in mind that your own resolution to succeed is more important than any other. I do the very best I know how - the very best I can; and I mean to keep on doing so until the end.
