My Program:
I use online food tracking to tally my daily caloric intake and exercise. When I'm at my most successful, I keep all categories of nutrients in the range they are supposed to be and see the positive results with weight loss. I move a lot by biking to do most errands and walking the dog. I bike 200 miles/month and exercise 2000 mins/month. I am a new runner and am enjoying the fact that I've finally accomplished this thing I've wanted to do for many years.





Personal Information:
I'm from SC/NC originally but have moved around a lot and am living in Japan right now for the second time in my life. It's my home away from home.

I added you as a Sparkfriend because I could relate to the post you made on the article about the Dr. using shame as a motivator. It makes me sick to think someone would think that approach is helpful. I also run (albeit not consistently) and ran my first 1/2 marathon last June. I'm planning my next one again this June. Congratulations on your successes. emoticon

I LOVE camping! My parents bought their first camper when I was 6 months old so you can say that I grew up out camping...literally! I actually put on a swimsuit this weekend so I could enjoy my family even more by going swimming with them! You should have seen the look on my 7 year old daughter's face - she was so excited I was finally going swimming with them. My 4 year old son asked, "Mom, why are you going swimming with us?" Cute but sad since he can't probably remember the last time I went swimming with them. This site has helped me realize I need to enjoy life now, not when I'm at goal.

As far as the running, not so good. You said it's hot and muggy in TX, well it's been like that here too and I'm not good with both on the same day! I will run another 5K in October once it cools down!

I hope you are well! I like your new SP and the goals you have listed. I'm working on mine too to keep me motivated.

Hey there stranger! How are you doing since your move back to the states. I saw you got off track for awhile, but are refocused. I too lost sight of myself during our move. Leaving Japan was tough. Exercise WAS so much easier there and the support was different and stronger. I'm in NC now and am finding it hard to establish relationships since we live off base. I'm pretty outgoing, but life is more complicated somehow here. I know you understand where I'm coming from. I'd love to hear from you. Have a great day!
