Hi, my name is Lee and I am just trying to get started here. So far I have been really inspired by all that I have read. I had hip replacement surgery a year ago so decided to quit smoking before the big day. After 46 years of smoking I am proud to say that , so far I have done it.. I traded cigarettes for food and a unhealthy life style, gaining lots of pounds in no time. I woke up one morning thinking how much I hate being so heavy and that I have to do something about it so I got on the computer and found Spark People. There is such a wealth of information and help and I keep finding new things. I retired last December so have a lot of time to read up on things. Our 8 children are all grown, we have 21 Grandchildren and 15 Great-Grandchildren. I love my dogs, a Boxer, Boston Terrier and a German Shepard, they keep my life interesting. I have never posted on a message board or a page before so here goes another new thing for me

ďAnd will you succeed? Yes indeed, yes indeed! Ninety-eight and three-quarters percent guaranteed!Ē
― Dr. Seuss

I feel that I'm having a petty good start to the new year and just wanted to spread some of my enthusiasm (who knows how long it will last).

YOU CAN DO IT!

I was glad to read in your Blog that you REALLY were having a wonderful holiday season that was going to last longer even than you had anticipated YEAH!!!

Hope all is Well with YOU...

I'm kind of down with a bug of some sort right now but I'm planning on getting out-of-doors a bit later (when it warms up a bit *it's now only 19 degrees here which is Cold for where I live in Oregon).

I've just recently dropped all of my Spark teams except for one because I'm going back to Graduate School in the Fall and feel that it's important to establish a routine of sorts that will get me through and is doable (not something that is so over-whelming that I'll have to drop out of it later).

emoticon We are almost there! HAPPY NEW YEAR...

Your Spark Friend,

Jane

emoticon Hope all is well with you. This is probably an extremely busy time of the year with your job. Stay warm! It can get cold out there! emoticon emoticon emoticon
