Nothings going to slow me down, oh no. I got to keep on movin'!

I'm a mother of three and still trying to get back in shape. My kids don't live with me, but it only makes me stronger. If I can overcome things like that I can do anything. I've already dropped from a size 14 to a size 5 in 3 years by walking like crazy. Now I'm stuck. I'm happy with my weight just want my stomach flat again. I blame my stomach bulge on the soda, sugary foods, and don't forget the carbs. I was drinking 4 cans of Mountain Dew a day. That is 500 calories in itself! Then I found ...

Then I found Spark People thanks to my best friend. Now seeing me with a Mountain Dew is rare. If I do have one its limited. Usually if I crave a soda I'll opp for a diet cherry 7up with antioxidants. I now eat my fruits and vegetables and get 8 glasses of water a day. I don't want people to think I've always been skinny. People think that, but no and finally added pics to show the facts. The journey has been great so far with Spark People and I look forward to the road ahead. (update) I no longer count my calories. I'm down to 111.2. I walk every day at work and some days to work. I have turned into eating only veggies, grains, beans, and unfortunately my sodas. I eat as much as I want, but of course there are far less calories now and I have to eat more often usually. I will say when I wasn't drinking my soda, I felt amazing! I Make my own food most of the time and when I get lazy I get morning star burgers without meat, eggs, and milk. I think it has helped. I finally got to run a 5k, which was one of my goals last year to do. Late is better then never! I ended up coming in at 419th place. I made it in just over 31 minutes. I'm pretty happy with that number for my first run. And YES I did run the whole way! 3.1 miles couldn't stop me! :D

My Program:
I love to walk so I will usually get 2+ hours in a week. Doing a Circuit Training thats in the Resistance Band and Body Weight Training Spark group. I do this on Sunday, Tues, and Thurs. I just started training for a 5k. I do walk/ jog intervals for 20 min Mon, Wed, Fri. And thats my workout program for now.

According to Brownielocks today is National Watermelon Day!

Watermelons ... a sweet, drippy, juicy way to learn! ;) So let's start out with some watermelon facts:

Watermelon Facts:
* Watermelons are more than 90% water. That's how it got its name!
* For that reason, in ancient times travelers used them as a source of transportable water.
* They probably originated in Africa, but are now grown around the world.
* They are part of the gourd family.
* They grow on a vine and must be replanted yearly.
* Most people consider them to be a fruit, but horticulturists consider them a vegetable.
* They vary in size and shape. The Japanese recently even developed a SQUARE watermelon!
* The outside of the watermelon is the rind.
* Inside the watermelon you'll find the flesh (the stuff you eat), and seeds.
* Watermelons can be different colors inside and out, as well as the amount of seeds that they contain.
* Most watermelons weigh from 5 - 40 pounds, but some get as large as 100 pounds.
* The 1996 Guiness Book of Records lists the largest watermelon as being 262 pounds!
* The seeds (like the pumpkin's seeds) can also be roasted and eaten.
* Some people use the watermelon rind for making preserves, pickles, or relish.
* That makes the whole watermelon edible!
