Someone special shared this with me and NOW it's my new favorite quote, MAYbe of all time:

"I hope that in this year to come, you make mistakes. Because if you are making mistakes, then you are making new things, trying new things, learning, living, pushing yourself, changing yourself, changing your world. Make glorious, amazing mistakes. Make mistakes nobody's ever made before. Don't freeze, don't stop, don't worry that it isn't good enough, or it isn't perfect, whatever it is: art, or love, or work, or family, or life. Whatever it is you're scared of doing, do it. Make your mistakes. Next year and forever."

Neil Gaiman

If I have learned ANYthing since joining SparkPeople in 2009 is that it is NEVER too late to start over. Now that I have entered my "40's", I have become ever more concerned about achieving balance--at work, at home--pretty much every area of my life and LESS about perfection. After gaining back 34 of the 54 lbs I lost in 2007, it's become increasingly clear that like before when I being WAY more consistent, reaching my goals will ONLY come from those little daily successes LIKE working out, getting enough rest, eating well MOST of time--basically making myself a priority again which is NOT the same as being selfish. But if it were THAT easy, it would already be done, right?

SOOO...Here's the deal folks. I'm not gonna make any WILD promises to myself except the following:

1. to accept the things about myself I cannot change and work like hell to change the things I can,

2. to regularly endeavor to demonstrate self-love and acceptance,

and lastly

3. to remember that whatever I send out into world may find its way back to me because karma is TRULY a b*tchslap and a half. LOL!

Joy is the holy fire that keeps our purpose warm and our intelligence aglow. ~ Helen Keller

I must admit that I personally measure success in terms of the contributions an individual makes to her or his fellow human beings. ~ Margaret Mead

Humanism will affirm life rather than deny it, seek to elicit the possibilities of life, not flee from it, and endeavor to establish the conditions of satisfactory life for all, not merely for the few.
~Excerpted from The Humanist Manifesto, 1933

Have patience with all things, but chiefly have patience with yourself. Do not lose courage in considering your own imperfections but instantly set about remedying them -- every day begin the task anew. ~ Saint Francis de Sales

Listen to the Exhortation of the Dawn!
Look to this Day!
For it is Life, the very Life of Life.
In its brief course lie all the
Verities and Realities of your Existence.
The Bliss of Growth,
The Glory of Action,
The Splendor of Beauty;
For Yesterday is but a Dream,
And To-morrow is only a Vision;
But To-day well lived makes
Every Yesterday a Dream of Happiness,
And every Tomorrow a Vision of Hope.
Look well therefore to this Day!
Such is the Salutation of the Dawn! ~ Kalidasa

    Hey Tay! I know I haven't been around here much. Been feeling at loose ends now that school is over and I'm looking for work. I did have a phone interview and skill assessment test at a local software company and am hoping that I get an on-site interview as well. I haven't heard the best things about their life/work balance, but they pay really well and I could definitely use a job, lol! Things haven't been the best at home either, but I am just taking life day by day right now and we shall see where it leads me.

    I do think of you often, you are kicking so much butt, girl! I love to see your status postings and blogs! How is your summer going? Doing anything fun? I have been getting out on the lake with some friends quite a bit and also seeing some bands, so that's been nice. :)

    Drop me a line or text some time!!

    Love ya!

    Hey Lady. How are you doing?
    Nothing to thank me for, but you are welcome. I think of you often. I just don't come here much anymore. I am trying to recover from an auto accident. Ugh. Been a rough time but I will be okay.

    Thanks for your friendship and support. I appreciate you. Enjoy your day. emoticon
