Life after running. Life with Baby. That is my new life.

2016 Update- Hello new and old friends! I'm still around. I'm loving yoga these days! And, walking and biking a bit and running a little. Feeling good! My son turned 6. How is that possible?!

2014 update- Hey, everyone! I'm around, even though you can't tell much on my page. I'm back to running, in moderation. (Shhhh! Don't tell the doctors.) Still struggling with exercise consistency with all of lifes interruptions now, but I'm not giving up! PM me or leave me a message anytime.

January 2013 update- OK, I fell off the PT wagon and need to get back on. Also, need to renew my dedication to finding a way to get more exercise.

August 2012 update- I'm starting the slow process of PT for my hip in the hopes that I will run again someday! Or, at least, be pain free. :)

A full Marathon in October of 2008 was my last hurrah after 12 years of running, more than thirty 5-10Ks, 3 sprint triathlons and 2 half marathons. In November of 2008, two different specialists told me I should never ever run again. I pushed for an occasional 5K, but they said every step I run is putting me that much closer to arthritis and hip replacement surgery. That is not something that a runner likes to hear at 37, or at any age. It has been disappointing news, but I quickly got caught up in TTC and pregnancy, and after one devastating miscarriage, my precious son was born in January 2010.

Since my dreams that childbirth would rearrange my hips and make them suitable for running again did not come true, I'm now in uncharted territory with what a new active lifestyle will look like for me. I miss my daily workouts, but hours of training are just not happening for me these days between work, and a very adventurous 3 year old.

This is not my old life. But, I'm on the road to creating a new life full of new adventures. Leave me a comment and let me know how you think I should handle my new challenges.

Personal Information:
Mid-forties (wow, when did that happen?! I still feel like 30.) Married. with a 6 year old son (aka- baby tsumami turned big boy) who turned our predictable lives upside-down in a split second. (If you don't believe the split second part, be sure to read my birth story in my blog.)

I don't like eating animals. Fish is the only meat I've eaten in close to 30 years. I love dark chocolate, green tea and all kinds of green veggies, especially the leafy kind. I quit coffee in 2007 and almost never miss it anymore.
