That's how Sue sees it!

Welcome to our place! Relax with us by the pool and listen to the frogs. Come take a walk with me at sunrise and sunset--the sky here goes on forever! No wonder they decorate with pink and blue in Florida--that's the color of the vast cloud mounds in the sky, where the lightning plays at any time of day. You never know what might be going on around here, but good food, friends, characters, physical activity, and my thoughts, goals, and interests of the moment are going to be part of it.

My Goals:
When I first joined SparkPeople, I'd seen my weight creeping up and decided that I needed to be more aware of what I was eating and how much I was exercising. Now that I've reached my goal, I'm keeping the Spark alive by adding nonweight-related goals:

THE PHYSICAL:
- Do some ST every day.

AND THE EMOTIONAL:
- Be brave in all things.
- Face challenges head on.
- Keep focus on quality work
- Envision positive outcomes for each day
- Live in the present, neither in fear of the future nor dwelling on the past.
- Make sure that every day I do a little of everything that gives me joy, like talking with SparkFriends, reading, writing, and walking.

All this will make for a VERY busy day, but what the hell. Life is short; make the most of it while you can!

My Program:
Make sure to eat at least SOME breakfast every day, for a kick-start!

Aim to walk a total of 5 miles, 10,000 steps, a day.

Eat only when hungry and stop when full. (This is NOT easy, by the way.)

Do daily pilates-type exercises to keep my hips and back limber.

Personal Information:
I recently moved to Port Charlotte, FL, from Exeter, NH, and am 65 with an emotional age of about 36.

5'7"

Went from 172 in February 2005 to a low of 111 a few summers ago (probably too low for me)

Now maintaining and trying to stay below or near120, mainly to fit into more of my clothes and have a flat tummy.

This, too, isn't always easy, because Bill and I love to cook and try out new recipes all the time!

Other Information:
My passions lately are writing; walking; Sparking; gardening; and reading. Of course, that's all when I'm not working as a college textbook editor.

Yeah, well, it was numbed up so high into my face my nose and eyelids were affected, but I didn't have the problem with biting my lip. But between the pulling on the temp caps and the assistant catching my gums with the forceps a couple of times and the drilling to get the temp caps off....there was a bit of throbbing going on. So instead of looking like a drooling idiot I got to chew, ever so carefully.
At least I didn't burn myself.

Hmmm...I use that phrase "at least" a lot don't I??? must be a much more optimistic person than I give myself credit for emoticon

I just stopped at the friendly's on 114....Safe, clean, known, plenty of coffee...and got myself a tunamelt on sourdough...yum.
Course that was also about the time the novacaine was wearing off, so didn't get to enjoy it as much as I would have liked. And I lived in that area for a while, so it was at least quasi familiar.
I was just grateful that they didn't offer me friday. But I'm guessing, since the doc has a summer home in Meredith, that he headed north slightly after me and skipped friday, ha ha.

2.5 hours from set up to clean up. It was in the 90's so a great day for it; good cool down. I only do this twice a year! She gets a thorough brushing and face/feet trim about once a month and some brushing in between. Needs it because she doesn't shed. The smooth look only lasts a day or so. I finally understand the people that complain about their curly hair! She HAD to feel better when we were done; I know I did! :) emoticon

Yeah, Sue, I"m too far south for lake chocorua, but I get to see the peak every morning for the first 20 minutes of my trip, plus passaconaway and the sandwich range (which all whisper come hike me), skirt around the northern corner of Winnepesauke and even rt 104 has a couple of pretty spots and that is the most boring part of the ride.
Im just jealous of the guy out in his boat fishing every morning for the past 3 weeks when I drive by at 6am.
