I have always been overweight, but now that I am 40 I am trying to take better care of myself. I know that with God's love and grace I can do all things.

Update 6-4-08

I am now 42 and am healthier than I have been in years. I feel Great and have more energy than I have had in a very long time. I have come a long way and am confident that I will reach my goal of 140-pounds.

Since 2005 I have improved my health by exercising and losing weight. Blood test results reveal that I have dropped my Triglycerides from 140 in 2005 to 55 in May 2008. That is an 85-point drop. My sugar levels dropped from 108 to 89. I have cut my Blood Pressure medicine in Half and am working toward not needing it at all. This is an Amazing Journey!!!

I have not updated this page in a while. I am now approaching my 43rd birthday, (next month) and am still enjoying this wonderful journey to health. In October 2008, I was able to cut my blood pressure medicine down to 1/4 of the original dose and have maintained steady good readings. I will eventually work my way completely off of meds.
However, I have suffered a small setback. I fell a couple of weeks ago and dislocated a rib so I am not able to do the calorie burning cardio that I need. All jumping or bouncing around is out of the question for now and there is no weight bearing allowed, but I still do some exercise each day. I have unfortunately gained about 5 pounds but am still maintaining a 50+ pound loss for more than 2 years.
I will NOT allow myself to creep back into old habits. This site has taught me so much about taking better care of myself and my family. I now enjoy exercise and will continue to make it a part of my life.
The people I have met here are so wonderful and you all work too hard for me to let you down. Please continue to hold me accountable. I could not have come this far without all of you.

11-15-2010 WOW! has it really been 4 years since I discovered this wonderful site? I have lost 58 pounds and regained about 30:-(
The first 3 years were amazing! I exercised Every day and logged every thing I ate. The weight came down and my confidence and energy level went up.
I don't know why but the last year it has been difficult for me to stay motivated. I don't seem to have the energy to exercise every day like I did in the beginning. I think I may need to get my thyroid checked. My body pulls some crazy tricks on me sometimes. I stay cold most of the time and my energy level is almost non existant.
Oh well, I still will NOT give up on my quest to reach a healthy weight and live a healthy lifestyle. I will continue to keep sparking and will ultimately reach my goal.

My Goals:
I want to fit into my wedding dress on my 20th wedding anniversary April 20, 2008-- Update:
This goal was met on April 20, 2008. I wore my dress to church and had a wonderful day of encouragement for goals that I had achieved.

My Program:
4-27-07
I am starting to switch up my exercise routine some. I just started on the Billy Banks Tae-Bo instructional Video and am loving it. I feel great. Exercise is an incredible energy booster.

6-12-07
I work a full time job in an office, but I also work in a grocery store. The local customers are asking me what I am doing to lose all this weight. I tell as many as I can about SparkPeople. I tell them it is a great web site and that I love it. Many of them have said that they will be logging in to check it out.

Update 3-24-2009
I have added some equipment to my exercise routine. I now have a treadmill, an elliptical, recumbent bike, ab-lounger, mini trampoline, gazelle, lateral thigh trainer, 5 and 8 lb hand weights, tension bands, exercise ball and pedometer, a thigh master, a Weslo Cardio Glide and a weight bench. I also have about 50 workout videos. A large variety to keep things interesting.

Personal Information:
I have been married to the love of my life for almost 22 years. The title of my page (CCC Gang) came from him. We have two dogs, (Cinna)mon and (Coco)nut, both girls. He says that we gang up against him so he calls us the CCC Gang.

Other Information:
I enjoy studying the KJV Bible,writing christian poetry and songs, reading classic novels, walking, and watching movies from the 40's and 50's.

Update 6-4-08
I now can add exercising and taking care of myself as one of the things I most enjoy doing.
