A little bit about my pre SP life...

I have always been fat. Ever since I can remember I have been the fat girl. I always had some friends, but felt like my skinny friends liked having me around because I made them look better. I still feel this way sometimes. Boys never payed much attention, so when the first one did I was a sucker. I got pregnant with my first son at age 17, a senior in high school. Before I had my oldest son I weighed 250 lbs. After he was born I lost the "baby weight" right away, but quickly gained it all back putting me in about 275. I just learned to live my life fat, I learned to deal with it. I stayed at about that weight for a long time. Jump forward 4 years. I lost 30 lbs. in anticipation for my wedding. I could have lost more but my dress didn't fit and couldn't be taken in anymore and we couldn't afford to buy a new one so I had to stop. Then I got pregnant on my wedding night. (I know right?) I gained 40 lbs., lost 20 right away but then gained it all back and then some. I was starting to become more and more uncomfortable with my own body. Even this was too fat for me. Something HAD to be done...

Then in late June of 2008, at 288.5 pounds I found Spark People and my life changed. I started eating good, going to a gym and I lost 46 pounds in about 3 1/2 months. It was amazing. My life had really changed. The friendships I formed and the support and knowledge I gained was really amazing. At one point I had lost 70 pounds, gained some back and was at 70 lost again.

Then it all went to hell. I could give you a list of "reasons" but it would just be talk. I have gained it all back, maybe more, I can't bring my self to weigh in. I feel like crap. I get dizzy, I can't breath and I can't sit and move like I want.

ENOUGH IS ENOUGH DAMN IT!!!!!!!!!!!

Love,
me

Eating healthy. That means no fast food or pizza, pastries or chips. I am also watching my portion sizes. I now realize that it is not necessary to eat 5 peoples worth of food.

SLOW AND STEADY WINS THE RACE!!

    Motivation Tip: Go Slow
Diet success entails making real lifestyle changes, and that doesn't happen overnight. "You have a better chance at keeping the weight off if you lose it slowly. People who are starving get irritable and have a higher failure rate," Kulze tells WebMD. "If you cut back 200 calories a day, you won't even realize it and the weight will come off and stay off." If you keep in mind that optimal weight loss is 1 to 2 pounds a week, you'll be less frustrated.

“Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn’t do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover.”- Mark Twain
