Confessions of a former "skinny" girl

My goal is to be healthy, and have a healthy relationship with food. I've been on both ends - overeating and undereating.

I'm hypoglycemic, so eating small meals throughout the day works best for me, as well as a lower carb intake. I aim for 40% carbs, 30% protein and 30% fat.

I started weight lifting in February 2012, and I absolutely love it! I'm constantly surprised at how strong I'm getting and the improvements I see each week.

Thanks for the comment on my blog and the friend add! That's so fantastic that you've been able to transition from the mindset of 'weight' to 'strength'! From my swimming, I can already feel my arms and shoulder getting stronger, and it feels fantastic!

Hi! I read your blog this morning about saving the playground - WTG! Whatever the ultimate reason the fire went out, you did YOUR part, and so many people don't.

Hope those fires go away soon. We are very dry here in East Tennessee too.

Blessings to you today!

UPDATE:

I purchased Altras yesterday. A Zero Drop shoe. Seriously wide toe box! And I size 7. I normally wear 5.5-6 (regular shoes) Coach said I could run in them because I have good running form! WOOT!

Took them for a spin today.... love them!

Toe gets a little more purple every day, just waiting it out. The Altras are 1/2 size larger than my Brooks. We'll see how these work out.

Next time though I'm checking out Zappos and hope to purchase my shoes a little cheaper. Although Coach did throw in socks and then I got my 10% discount. WOOT!

And Coach said I should get over 350 miles on these sh0es. For now my plan is to rotate shoes. I have 3 pair. High mile days - Altra. Mid mile days - newer Brooks. Low mile days or trail run days - older Brooks.
