I found out on 3/28/2014 at 0920hrs that I have diabetes. The new me is now losing weight and eating right and is taking CONTROL of the situation. I will not have diabetes ruin my life. I will win! "My life is not over, it's just changing." This quote was made up by my husband to me, so I would understand that my life is not over. Since then I have said this quote every day and it's even posted on my bathroom mirror. It is so inspiring especially since my husband made the quote just for me. ...

Congrats on the weight loss... mine has been pretty slow, but not going up, so that's a good thing! I'm just focusing on being healthy.

You should definitely come visit Canada. Are you from El Paso? I see that team on your page. If so, it would be quite far I guess! I haven't been to Europe, but everyone says Quebec, and specifically Quebec City are very European. I'm in Ottawa, Ontario (the capital of Canada). Canada is pretty diverse - like the States, so it would depend where you wanted to go. I've been to Vermont skiing, upstate New York just to shop, and I went to Florida a couple of years ago and went to Orlando (Disney), Tampa, and Daytona.

My Canada Day was probably pretty similar to how you would celebrate 4th of July - I was at my aunt's house on the beach all day with family and we had a BBQ and fireworks. In the city, at Parliament Hill there were bands playing all day (Syrena Ryder and some others) and there were fire works.

Hi :)

I'm doing well, how about yourself? I'm actually Canadian - so it was our Canada Day yesterday. Unfortunately on a Tuesday this year, so I'm back at work this morning, and desperately in need of some caffeine!

Thanks for your comment on my blog. The 21 day fix is a program on beachbody. It helps you with portion control by providing you with color coordinated containers to show you how much food you can have in a day without having to count calories. You cook and prep your own meals and it comes with a workout program too. I think it would be good to try. Hope you have a great week.

planning your meals/snacks will help! if you check it 2 hrs after you eat you'll start to see what affects your glucose. I stayed away from soda, sweets, too much carbs, fast food and fried food. If I did Fast food it was whataburgers grilled chicken with one slice of the break, apple slices instead of ff and unsweet tea maybe a splash of lemonade in it you can do this! for breakfast I'd have two tortillas one egg bacon or something a few pieces of cubed cheese and crystal light..i wouldn't eat anything between my meal and snack. Good luck!
