I have started over! I officially weighed-in today. I have already dropped 65 pounds since I started in January of 2010. The first half is DONE!!!! I have lowered my BMI from 49.9 to 36.8 --- still a long way to go, but not as far as when I began! My body fat percentage is now in the acceptable range and very close to the fitness range. I have lost nearly 25% of my starting body weight. Now for those last 40 pounds....... slowly but surely......

My Program:
I plan to show up a to the gym at least 5 times a week. I plan to try a variety of exercises. I plan to conquer the elliptical machine -- I did it before; I can do it again! I plan to make permanent changes for my sake and the sake of my family.
Personal Information:
I teach fourth grade. I have been teaching for 16 years. I have a little girl, 9. I was a dancer and a soccer player in junior high, and a varsity cheerleader in high school. I know what it is like to be in shape and at a healthy weight. I miss it. I lost my parents in 2006 and 2008. They both went too soon...and both form complications associated with obesity. I don't want to think that I might follow in their footsteps. I have the support of a good doctor and lots of friends....and I have lost 65 pounds so far.
Other Information:
I spent 2010 making up for lost time. I lost 65 pounds over the course of a year and a half, and I continue to work on it. I have developed habits to take me through the rest of my life. Exercise is a reward now, not a punishment. Food and I have come to an understanding as well.... I am making goals for myself that a year ago I would have laughed at. NO MORE! I have seen what I am capable of....
