Healthy Habits

I'm back on Spark again, but this time to work on healthy habits. I want to be healthier in body, mind, and spirit, not just focus on weight issues.

My Goals:
1/27/16

I have set some ridiculously small goals so I can feel successful when I achieve them. I intend to build on them and add to these goals as I succeed with them. For now, here are my goals:

1) Get 7 hours of sleep each night.

2) Get dressed by 2 p.m. each day, 6x/wk.

3) Cook at least one meal per week, 1x/wk.

3) Eat a piece of fresh produce each day, 1x/day

4) Lose 16 pounds by 4/15/16 so I can get down to 199 pounds. I've already lost 3 of those pounds, so I have just 13 more to go! There are just a little over 11 weeks until 4/15/16 to lose those 13 additional pounds, so I think this is doable. I need to lose more weight, but I'm going to reset my ticker once that goal is met and then work toward losing another 15-20 pounds. I'm doing this in small chunks so I don't get frustrated and overwhelmed by the long distance to the finish line. Trying to look too far ahead was what made me leave Spark at times in the past.

My Program:
I am trying to get to bed earlier so I can get my 7 hours of sleep. I am making sleep a priority.

I use Sparkstreaks to take pride in myself as intrinsic rewards for reaching these small goals. Just seeing those streaks add up builds confidence.

I have a little cat, about 2 years old. She is a tortoise-shell (Tortie). I adopted her in April 2014.

I enjoy reading and crafting.

I learned about garlic early on in cooking experiments. I made my Mom's homemade salad dressing and it called for 3 cloves of garlic. I didn't know what a clove was and put in 3 whole bulbs. emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon
