Stacy's Life

I struggled with my weight for years. I tried so many of the diets out there. They all seem to work for a short time, but then I get stuck and gave up and gained the weight back...

After two years of CONSTANT VIGILANCE (sound like Mad Eye, don't I?), I have managed to drop over 100 pounds.
While I'm still inherently lazy, I've found a few things that I really enjoy doing. Bicycling, hooping, spinning poi, and I'm even enjoying my running! (Yay for C25K!)

While I'm still inherently lazy, I've found a few things that I really enjoy doing. Bicycling, hooping, spinning poi, and I'm even enjoying my running! (Yay for C25K!)

I think that's really the key, isn't it? Constant Vigilance - watching what I eat & keeping active. Now, that's not to say I don't let myself have treats (seriously, look up my flourless chocolate mug cake recipe); you need to have to occasionally let yourself have "bad" things, or you'll just obsess over them!

I follow what I like to call "Paleo Ranchero". (I guess you could call it "Primal" as well.) Veggies, some fruit, meat, nuts, very little grain, and cheese. It's pretty much a low-carb lifestyle, but not crazy low. I try to keep my carb intake between 100-150g a day. Some days are higher some days are lower.
I also have been Intermittant Fasting one to two times a week. Basically, I eat dinner then don't eat again until 1-2pm the next day. Then resume eating as normal.

My highest weight, around April 2010, was 304 pounds. I was unhappy, but didn't realize it. I've gone from a size 26 to a size 10.

From the story I heard from my husband, there was a fire at one of the county records halls in MN many decades ago. He told me this story, but his mom was like WTF I got a copy of my marriage, no problem!! A fire would explain why the MN records were so ghetto compare to like.. the one I have for myself from WI. If there wasn't actually a fire.. then MN is lazy! :P

How are you going to have time to sew anything this year? You crazy woman! Take lots of pictures! (Except maybe in Vegas? :P) Venice and Scotland are definitely places I think I would enjoy! Is this your first cruise? I know The Husband was thinking about taking me on one for a while back when we first got married... (until all those news reports of rampant legionare's disease started popping up a few weeks later) If you've gone on them before, I was just curious about what your experiences were with them :)

thanks for the comment. He actually is normally very supportive. The whole weight loss and giving a few cents about my appearance freaks him out a little, okay, a lot. Then the insecurity about me finding someone else kicks in. He spent most of Sunday apologizing about being an A$$. He's been out of work for a year now and hasn't had a lot of interest. His self confidence is pretty low. Add to that I'm probably the only person he talks to everyday and I get a lot of the messed up emotions taken out on me. He's old school, a man isn't worth anything unless he can support himself and his family.

Hey there! I found you on a team we're both on, it's since been made private, and noticed your Spark name had "Stacy" in it, so HAD to visit your page. I'm a Stacey, so we must be spark friends (I added you as a friend).

I'm highly impressed with your 130 pound weight loss. That's incredible! When I read your page I almost thought I was reading about myself. I consider myself lazy and an enormous procrastinator too! My manager says she's going to rid me of my JIT methodology and I really hope she does because it's exhausting. Although, it's been five months since I've been working for her and I'm still getting things done just-in-time! So, you have some serious competition in me when it comes to queen of procrastination.

See you around Spark! emoticon

Thanks for stopping by my blog. I am ALSO glad I'm not the only one who bastardizes paleo! I eat dairy and peanut butter, and a little bit of beans. And once in awhile I'll eat the hell out of pizza. If you can't eat pizza, what's the point in living anymore!?!?
