Well I did it!! In December of 2009, I reached my goal--45 lbs. lost! Only to be sidelined by an unexplained overuse injury (fractured ankle) in February.

Well I did it!! In December of 2009, I reached my goal--45 lbs. lost! Only to be sidelined by an unexplained overuse injury (fractured ankle) in February.

Nowadays I'm just trying to get back into the routine I was in before I got sidelined. I found the crutches were great exercise. I maintained my weight, even lost a few pounds while I was using them, but the cast came off that June, and I gained 8 lbs. over the summer due to troubles with swelling and aching in my foot- otherwise lack of exercise and no motivation.

At the end of the year I received a promotion at work. Ha, some promotion- a lot more responsibility, salaried (more hours-less pay), cuts in personnel and a lot more responsiblity, not to mention the STRESS that comes with being the boss!

45 pounds later and high blood pressure due to a year of overeating from stress got me to a state of unhappiness I didn't want to be in.-- realizing I wasn't happy, and that I needed to get back to some kind of organized routine-one with less stress, I've come back to my "roots." SparkPeople helped me once before and I knew you could help me again.

With a new less stressful job and a renewed desire to change things up a bit, here's to a banner year!! Let's GO!

Drop the 25 lbs I need to lose to reach my goal.

Start tracking my food intake and exercise again.

Do cardio and/or strength training for at least 30-60 minutes a day for 5 days a week.

My name is Sherry. I live on a farm in a small rural community in Idaho. I have 1 husband, 3 grown children, 9 awesome grandchildren, 3 horses, 10 cats, 90 cows and too many gray hairs to count. I love photography, restoring old photos and family history.

Other Information:
Taking my lead, in 2002-03 my husband lost 160 pounds, only he is stalwart and has maintained his weight! Part of me is really happy for him- the other part wants to strangle him! I lovingly tell people I live with "the Food Police!"

Glad to hear that your ankle is healing. Don't push yourself to fast with your exercising. You don't want a set back.
You at least made your goal unlike me I am not any where's near my goal. I keep wondering when I am going to make my goal. I keep setting little goals but haven't even made one of them.
I am still attending Tops I just keep yo-yoing. I am so tried of it.
Any suggestion , I eat healthy most of the time and exercise when I remembersome nights I think of it to late.

Hi Sherry ,
How are you doing I try to catch you when you are on Sparks. How is your summer going?
I got a job helping out a friend with her mom that has Alzheimer's I am in to my fourth week . I work three days a week at her house for five hours each day I get her up and sponge bath her because there is only a half bath on the first floor then I feed her and she has a piano she can play or book she like to look through. Her daughter got the piano years ago at the dollar store it's real nice it plays songs and different tunes. She is in the last stage someday I can't understand her and others she is real good like today.
