Hello everyone and welcome to my page.
My name is Sandy/Sandra and I live in the Cayman Islands.

I joined spark people in 2013 and have been losing and gaining weight ever since.

I first joined Spark when I realised that I weighed 150 pounds, 30 pounds more than I had been most of my young adult life prior to that. When I weighed 120 I was attending university and was living a different lifestyle prior to joining the work force and when I started working at a desk for 7.5 hours a day and eating bigger meals and more of them compared to broke college days where I went to school and slept a lot the new lifestyle meant more weight being put on.

My clothes were uncomfortably tight and I didn’t feel comfortable in my own body so I made changes to my activity and diet and the pound went off and I aimed to be back down to my original weight. I never got there but I did lose 20 pounds and then months later as I became complacent and lazy or busy I gained it back, dropped again the cycle continued with me hovering between 130 and 150.

I am in the 140s at the moment and my current goal is 130 as I’m not sure I can reach 120 or if I want or need to. But my main goal is to be healthy. To be more active and to put more nutritious food in my body on a regular basis. I’m never going to give up my favourites, I love breads and sweets and butter but it’s all about moderation.

This year’s goal is about developing good habits and sticking to them. I'm not going back.

    Today I am doing some lovely guided meditation MBSR= Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction! And I love it!

    I am also doing the 21 Guided Meditation Challenge put on by Oprah and Deepak Chopra... It is very relaxing... It's Called Shedding the Weight- Not just in the body- but of the mind too... It is an eye-opener! I can't let past experiences weigh me down anymore. the past is the past- I control my present and future... I can write about and try to understand WHY I am effected by past circumstances, events, situations , let downs, etc... But They hold no power over my present situation- and if they do- it's time to take back the reigns... A LITTLE Confidence along with persistence! Right?
