In the home stretch
In August of 2011 I began a journey without a path. I had started this journey many times before...too many times to count. I knew where the ending was but getting there was a puzzle I had yet to figure out. I'm a stubborn thing. I should have realized this was part of the reason I had failed so many times before. In August of 2011 I began a journey without a path. I had started this journey many times before...too many times to count. I knew where the ending was but getting there was a puzzle I had yet to figure out. I'm a stubborn thing. I should have realized this was part of the reason I had failed so many times before. I was always trying to lose weight doing it someone elses way. So thus began the journey to cut out each unhealthy food one at a time. Soda was the first to go and in 4 months I was comfortable with eating almost nothing but whole foods (I still love peanut butter and will never give it up). Today August 29, 2012 I weigh 134 pounds making my total weight loss 86 pounds. I should add that I haven't been this size since I was 13 years old. I know I should be thrilled and I am but I don't think anyone could have prepared me in how to handle the new body I am living in. You see, when you are overweight most of your adult life it becomes all you know. Although my loss was gradual over a years time this is still very new to me. I hope with time I can become not only more comfortable in my own body but gain the courage to figure out what this sucker can do :)
