Finding inspiration

I am a 56- year old wife, mom of two grown daughters, and middle-school math teacher. I was overweight in my late teens to early twenties. I lost over 35 pounds and have kept it off for many years. Now and then, I struggle a wee bit, and SparkPeople are a source of inspiration.

Thanks for popping by the blog. Nope, doesn't seem fair, but who said life was fair? Osteopenia, I read, is one of those "thin white old people" things. Who knew I'd end up with a thin person's condition?

Seriously, though, since I first started seeing a doctor when I was 54, and he took my history and heard when I stopped having monthly cycles, he turned white as a sheet and ordered the first bone density test, because apparently early menopause is one of the risk factors, too.

We deal with whatever hand we are given. Yes, I was bummed, but it is what it is, and I know I'm doing what I can. So it's all good!

Have a safe Halloween out there!

Appreciate the goodie and the kind words. Always nice to know someone is reading the weekly tips and more importantly, actually finding them useful!

emoticon No, we did NOT plan the color coordination, it just kind of happened. When we were little, we were often dressed in "sister dresses" with the white gloves and straw purses, although that doesn't show in the 1957 photo, had I found 1958 or 1959's Easter pictures it would have. I remember some lovely pastel seersucker dresses from one year...

Thanks, Barb! I just started blogging. I've sort of been an 'in-the-closet' Sparker, but wanted to participate more in the community.
