When I started losing the weight - everything hurt. Mostly my feet from holding the weight and being on my feet for work all day. I could only do 30 minutes of walking on the treadmill at 3mph and no incline. I never got shin splints or things like that but did have tightness in my ankles and sides of my calves and thighs - T-Band is what needed to be stretched.
I do not stretch as much as I should but as the food changes happened the weight loss started and the exercise became easier as I wasn't lugging all that baggage.
Try stretching - even if it feels tight and sore, push it a bit and hold 30 seconds. Or switch up what you do.
