So it's almost seven years since I joined Spark and I still haven't gotten to my goal but that's no reason to give up and inhale all of the unhealthy food I can get to my mouth.

First of all I can do this. No problem. I have what it takes to get it done and meet my goal of living healthier. On July 2014- The thing I feared came true ...a high blood sugar diagnosis on top of high cholesterol and blood pressure. Members of my father's side of the family have had serious diabetes complications over the years. I don't want to repeat history especially when it can be changed mostly by changing what foods I put in my mouth when I eat. So it's all about making healthier choices.

I am setting myself up for success for life by eating to live.

My Goals:
1. Drop 10 pounds
2. Drop 15-20 lbs
3. Onederland by 2017
4. 35ish inch waist.

Remember slow weight loss is still good b/c it gives the skin time to adjust.

My Program:
Wed 7/16/14 -
Diabetes 2 diagnosis. A1C - 8.8
Blood glucose - 171

In 2015 I started plant based eating but kept slipping off plan frequently so my goal is to stay on plan.

I read Dr. Barnard's Program for Reversing Diabetes and Dr. Fuhrman's Eat To Live - Reversing diabetes books. They were very convincing.

Not only do I feel better but I've noticed that my skin looks better when I eat plant based.

"Fear defeats more people than any other one thing in the world."

"Many things which cannot be overcome when they are together yield themselves up when taken little by little."
 Plutarch

Sounds like that quote applies to the weight I want to release.

"You cannot afford to settle for any situation that dampens your spirit. When you discover you have 'detoured,' you must do whatever it takes to return to the path of joy. Putting your foot down is a prerequisite to stepping ahead." - Alan Cohen
