April 2014: REBOOT

After 4 years of being on SparkPeople, I've lost 23 pounds and gained 23 pounds. How did that happen? So glad you asked. I quit doing the things that work, like tracking, exercising, making good food choices, drinking a lot of water and participating on my teams. This year I plan to rectify all that.

So. I've re-read the info on how to use this site. My goals have been updated and I think they are reachable. I've entered new info on my fitness tracker. I'm looking into new teams to help me reach my goals.

Today I went for a walk early in the morning. It was so peaceful and refreshing. This afternoon I worked in the yard for an hour with my dad. I had forgotten how good it felt to move. Did you know that it's easier to drink water after working out and sweating? It's the simple things, right?

Thanks for stopping by. Please, before you go, leave a bit of wisdom on my page - a hint, a trick, an easier way to accomplish a goal, some positive thoughts, a little motivation. Whatever you have that's working for you, I'd love to know about it.

By Herb Caen:

Every morning in Africa, a gazelle wakes up. It knows it must run faster than the fastest lion or it will be killed.

Every morning a lion wakes up. It knows it must outrun the slowest gazelle or it will starve to death.

It doesn't matter if you're a lion or a gazelle, when the sun comes up, you'd better be running.

I've had this quote on here for a long time. This is what it means to me: It doesn't matter what our station in life is. We better be living it to the best of our ability. Here's to us!

Hi Christi,
Thanks for the goodie and the comment on my blogs.
Glad you agree with me on the simple carbs and sugar.
I have a suggestion for you if you want to get those things under control.
Visit and join the Sweet Tooth challenge in SP. I found that this challenge really helped me get a hold of the problems with these foods.
I admit it took about three tries to get through it, but was sure pleased with the results when I finally finished!

Also, find substitutes for the soda. I haven't had any soda for so long now.
I prefer water. Try some of the 0 calorie natural(not artificial) sweeteners
in your beverages.

Hope you have success in losing that weight and getting a hold of those unwanted bad habits! Hope to see you more on SP!

Take care and God bless.
Love ya,
Sue

Hi Christi!
Me again!
Thanks for the comment on my garden blog. Glad you finally got a chance to visit the page!
Been working on the side gravel driveway lately to get rid of all the weeds and grass. Then hope to spray with weed killer to keep it nice.

'm also trying to make some changes with my internet and phone service.
We don't have a whole lot of choices here, but still having trouble with it anyway. Mostly decisions about the modem and whether or not I really need a new one or new service at all. Getting differing views and it makes things all the more confusing!

Hope you are back on SP again and can work to reach those goals! I've been steadily improving and almost to another mini-goal! With a new doctor appointment for the end of August, should have something good to share for sure!

Take care!
Love you,
Sue

Hi Christi,
Hope you are doing well.
I decided to drop by and see how you were doing.
I hope your life is slowing down a bit and your schedule is getting back to normal.
It's been pretty warm around here. The heat slows me down some, but trying to keep up with everything otherwise.

Looking forward to your quick and soon return!

Love ya and miss ya,
Sue
