Okay, here we go. Weighed in this morning. Had to add a couple of pounds to the weight tracker. I could let this get me down, but I choose to use it as motivation to get back on track.

Yesterday I created a list of small changes that I need to make. Today I started making them. From past experience I know that I can only handle a couple of changes at a time. If I do too much at once I'll feel overwhelmed or deprived and I'll give up.

I am coming to terms with the fact that a couple of my favorite foods are really not good for me. Since I can't control my portions with these foods, and since they are loaded with carbs and salt, I need to abstain. Maybe I'll be able to eat them again some day. Maybe not. I can't dwell on that. My focus needs to be replacing those foods with healthful good-tasting foods that will help me reach my goals of being healthy and strong.

It's time to get serious.

Hi Christi, I hope all is going well in your life! I am tired, but in a better place, and feel far from collapsing today. I have decided to sleep more. I actually took a nap after school--me, a nap?? Yes, I napped, and it was good. I also took time out to make a pot of soup, so I have that to look forward after school. I love having something nourishing and filling, which I can heat up and eat quickly, before I make a poor choice, out of exhaustion and hunger! It's all about the self-management, isn't it?

Thanks for your goodie, and your lovely thoughts.

I hope you listened to your bird friends, and went out to enjoy the lovely day! The birds are always right. They are right about everything!

It's so good to hear from you! I'll be going to bed EARLY tonight. My hormones have been causing sleep problems so I can't watch any more politics after 9! BTW, I don't think I've told you that our little Harley is not doing well. He's totally blind now and has doggie alzheimers. I go to bed early many nights because he takes a lot of my energy during the day. But we are doing our best to keep him comfortable and happy until he has to cross the rainbow bridge. He has been a great companion for over 13 years and we are determined to give him back all of the love he has given us.

So that splains why you don't know all those lyrics! No Rock & Roll music? Oh my! No bikinis? Oh my!

I was 11 yrs old and got my very own transistor radio so the rest is history. And every summer ...during college...we girls lived at Cape Cod, so bikinis were as common as fried clams and lobstah! Catholic school girsl gone wild, lol!

Happy to hear you made up for lost time! Never too late!
