Embarking on a new journey :-)

Hi. My name is Autumn. I've always been fit and relatively healthy until I had a massive depression while trying to get my doctoral dissertation ready for defense, working full-time, commuting, getting married, while still grieving the end of a very selfish 15 year relationship/marriage that started when I was 19. 3.5 years after my divorce, after very little dating, I found my Prince. I married David and then soon after was hospitalized with a life-threatening depression for a year and a half. When my stay was over, on my first Sat. out, I took David to the CN Tower for dinner to celebrate and specially to thank him for his loyalty, attention and love and also to say "this is a new start". That Tues., a transport truck hit and run David (truck's fault), crushing in the driver's side of our 3 mo. old new car. David wasn't hurt - thank God - and the guy got away essentially, but they eventually caught him. We can't sue here quite the same, so we didn't get any money out of it, just a refurbished car. That was 5 years ago. Now, I want something new and positive for the next 5 years. I've left the ex and his demeaning family behind; I've left academia behind. I need to learn to take care of myself and get fit and trim again. With the medication I'm on for depression, and binging for emotional reasons, I gained about 80 lbs. Now I want to lose them. I have an incredibly supportive husband. My treatments for the depression resulted in the loss of most of my adult memory, including our wedding, etc., Now, it's basically David and me. All my life, I've loved helping people (my main degrees are in psychology and I developed an effective academic and social intervention for post-secondary students who are learning and other wise disabled become successful academically and socially) and now look forward to contributing to this site. In the future, I'd love to teach restorative yoga (I just (Nov. 2011) passed a teacher training!) (Thank you CarolJean :-) and be a life coach. I really look forward to getting to know you and your goals. We're all in this together! :-) Thanks for listening. I'd love to hear about you now...
Namaste.
Autumn

I just wanted to say hi and tell you that even though I've been away from SP for the past several months (bogged down with work and stress) I am looking forward to ending the mighty-year-of-challenges that has plagued me this past year and start fresh soon... I may be still a bit scarce around here for the next little while but I did want to let you know that I've been thinking of you and hope you are doing well in life, in happiness, and in your journey.

A long time ago , a mother prepared for Christmas Eve. She cleaned and scrubbed her home, chasing the spiders from the living room with her broom. The spiders fled to the attic and listened to the excitement below as the Christmas tree was put up and decorated. When all was quiet again, the little spiders crept back downstairs to see the beautiful tree. They were filled with happiness as they crawled along every branch, admiring the glittering beauty of each ornament. But alas, by the time they had finished climbing through the tree, it was completely draped with their dusty, gray cobwebs.

When the Christ child came, He smiled as He looked upon the happy little spiders, however, He knew the mother would be heartbroken when she saw the shrouded tree. So He reached out and touched the webs and, blessing them, turned them into silver and gold. Now the Christmas tree sparkled and shimmered and was even more beautiful than before. Thus the custom to have tinsel of silver and gold and a spider ornament among the other decorations on the Christmas tree was born.
