one day at a time (life is but a journey)

mother of 2, work OVERNIGHTS (13-14hr shifts) with aggressive behavioral children

10 years of struggling with my weight. I have been on so many yo-yo diets to only gain all the weight back & more.

I am more determined then ever ( I will be around for my grand- kids)

I WILL SUCCEED (SLOWLY BUT STEADY)

short term goal: hit (onederland)
long term goal: be comfortable with my self image

It does become easier over time. It just takes the time and effort. But it's definitely worth it. You can do it. Just do better than you did yesterday. That's all you have to do today.

I have to force myself out the door almost every time, especially in the beginning. Reality is, if I push my body for 45min or longer, I'm done. I can rest the remainder of the day and not feel guilty. I also love the endorphin rush I get about an hour after my workout. Full of energy, and happiness.

Eventually it gets easier. But I find if I take one day off, I really have to push the next day. If I take more than one day off, I have to push for more days to get out the door. It's almost like for every day off I take, I struggle for that many days to get back on track and back into a routine of getting out there.

This go around I'm mixing it up. Trying a few different exercises to see if it helps. So far it is. I'm still training for my upcoming races, but I'm also doing other things to keep me moving on my "rest" days from training.

Hi Shanal I am Pat in Augusta. We are relatively close but I just wanted to say hello. The Maine team was very connected and active when I first started with Spark but it is not nearly so active now. Do you have time to click the Huddle wall? It used to have lots of comments on it in the past. Welcome to Spark I hope you can be as successful as I am. Long hours are hard but tracking food and walking was the way I lost over 50 pounds I just measured and I do not eat sweets or junk foods. I am much older than you and I regret I did not start till I was diabetic and had high blood pressure. Losing my weight made a difference. Pat in Augusta. emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon

Thanks for the goodie :) I get spring fever early, too! Can't wait to get some plants in the ground. Won't happen to me until late May, but I know it's coming!
