I found SP while looking for a nutrition calculator. I'd lost 25 pounds without much of an idea about what I was doing. I was amazed and grateful to discover that Sparkpeople is so much more than a calorie tracker.

I know from experience that making small, consistent positive changes snowballs into an avalanche of change. I didn't know that I would need to pay attention to every day if I wanted to hang on to the benefits of those changes. I didn't know that nothing is or can be allowed to be more important than health. Not studying. Not chores. Not even family demands.

But I am learning that now.

SHORT-TERM

LONG-TERM

I'm from Seattle Washington and I LOVE to hike. Love, love, love to hike!


Other Information:
I have juvenile diabetes which puts an extra wrinkle into exercise, like checking blood sugar in the middle of a long run and carrying juice and a glucometer everywhere. Oh yes, and occasionally crashing.

I'm midway through nursing school where I am probably the oldest nursing student ever.

    June's "apple" does look like a bomb, I always have thought so. lol!

    Thanks Jess, I am really working not just going overboard on sweets. I have been awful about them lately so when our challenge started I figured I am going to find some of that will power I hear so much about. Once or twice a week and within moderation. So far I have only had sweet goodness once so I think I am going to get some for tomorrow. I am starting to think about it more so I better get some to stop a crave/binge before it starts.

    Here is to a successful challenge for both of us.
