Hello waist

I've shrunk by 4 dress sizes and have got a distinctive waistline back. Hence the page title. My weight-loss plateaued mid-2013 and then I gained about 10lbs back. I don't like how my clothes are looking tight, so I'm back on the low-carb plan.

By following the SparkPeople's diabetes eating programme I have halved my blood sugar count.

Thanks so much for your comments on my cultural differences blog and for sharing that funny story about your mum. Walking just doesn't seem to be part of the culture in much of America--at least not for going about your daily business--and I'm sure contributes to the obesity problem.

Hi Satchmo99 - I just read your comment on one of SP's articles on the emotional causes of having trouble losing weight. I'm like you - food is how I keep the emotions down, suppressing them, and 'checking out' from feeling.

I've been looking for a way to do something different - thanks for the suggestion of a journal - I'll try that :-) . I still have issues around diaries after my parents read mine - which is why I've resisted journaling for so long.

Thank you :-)
