I'm a long time Sparker that lost her way and is back with an even bigger challenge ahead.

I need to do this.. for me... for my life.. for my skiing... for my husband. It has got to be a top priority for all the other things in my life to keep working.

My last doctor appointment weighed me in at 302, by far the heaviest I have ever been in my life. Newly married "fat and happy" cannot be the resounding answer for my physique.. especially now that it is confirmed that I have high cholesterol like so many of my family members.

The biggest challenge for our customers at work is letting go of what they were doing before, to adapt a new strategy for their business. I gently encourage them to stay with what they have been doing if it is working for them; knowing full well that it is not working, and that is why they are talking to me. Accepting that prior failure, for lack of better word, is one of the biggest hurdles to face.

My previous strategy was not working. I need to adopt a new strategy if I am going to see a positive change.

I want to increase my profit margin in life. I do NOT want to settle for just making ends meet.

I'm going to say this one more time just for me, because this is turning point.

What I have been doing does not work to be healthy. I need to adopt a new mindset and approach to eating and lifestyle if I am going to be healthy. I need to do these things because I LOVE my body... not because I hate it.

This is my life. My only life. This is the body that I have, and it's time to start taking care of it.

Hi...with regards to interval apps, there is a Galloway app for the iPhone for all types of distances, 5K on up. I recently purchased a Garmin Forerunner 220 GPS watch and it can be set to alert for run / walk intervals, which is what I am using now. The Galloway iPhone apps are cheaper than a GPS watch -- I think maybe $5, so a good way to start.

Good luck and feel free to reach out if you have any questions!

If you google search about water retention you can find tons of info! I track my water in my fitbit app and I've noticed I've actually been drinking about 12-14 cups a day and if I have just 8 I feel dehydrated. Adding Lemon to water helps too, I love it and lemon water has all kinds of benefits. Also I take Potassium and Magnesium daily I've noticed that if I don't I start showing symptoms of them being low. Potassium helps fluid balance in the body too. But even doing stuff to help it I still see the flux from water retention show up but now it just seems a little more mild for me, I haven't had a month long one again so that's nice! I've learned to not freak out and just wait it out. I think stress can make it worse so that prob helps it too!!! LOL I think it takes some trial and error to see what things you can do and tweak to help your body with fluid balance better.

I love the Jeff Galloway Method, it's so simple and so easy for everyone to use and run and still feel good. I did the couch to 5k too and ended up switching right before going on the 30 min non-stop runs, my body just would protest the longer intervals and my legs would feel like led! Though I CAN go for about 20 min. non-stop it just feels uncomfortable to do that all the time, if my legs are rested I can easy but if not...led. So I really love how intervals feel so much more comfortable and you can change them to whatever you want too. Lately I've been enjoying a 1min. jog 30sec. walk interval because it keeps my legs feeling good and I can go longer and it feels fun. I don't feel like I HAVE to walk at 1 min. but I do it anyway, even though I totally could go longer, and that helps my speed!

Also it's putting less stress on your body which helps with the water retention too! It's kinda like everything works together so it's hard to pin point just one thing you know?

OH I bought a Gymboss Interval Timer on Amazon, but before I did that I had downloaded an app called "Impetus" and it's free. It has lots of preprogrammed stuff but I used the Tabata and Edited it to change the times and rounds to whatever I wanted like 1 min. Work and 30 sec. Rest and 30 Rounds.
