Adventure around the corner

Adventuring of the physical sort rather than just in my imagination, appears to require the ability to escape quicksand, tumbling boulders, and desperado's. I can't help but notice that most folks who do not get eaten by the monsters, drowned by the pirates, or unsuccessfully commit daring acts, are in pretty good shape - and hardly plump let alone overweight.

As I come into the second half of my life (assuming a very long life indeed (grin)), I want to be in a good enough shape ...

As I come into the second half of my life (assuming a very long life indeed (grin)), I want to be in a good enough shape that I would not be the first person in the room eaten by a zombie or become the "expendable" hostage. It would also be nice to do a five mile hike, up hill, both ways, without struggling.

My Goals:
I'm breaking my weight goals into smaller chunks: First one is from 153 to 139 - this is my "I can live with this"; next is 139 to 135 which is "damn I'm good"; and 135 to 129 "rock star."

The purpose behind the weight loss is primarily for fitness. Anything below 139 is vanity (and I'm OK with that too!)

I want to do more travel. The discipline I use to work out and lose weight will also help build my confidence.

My Program:
Cardio 3 times a week -- typically elliptical for 45 to 55 minutes a session.

Weights 2 time a week -- 30 minute sessions.

Working in the garden at least once a week, more when the weather cooperates.

Personal Information:
I live in south Snohomish, Washington with my recently married (to me) husband ;-)
