One year on Spark, and time to update my profile introduction... Still a married (30+ years) empty nester (daughter doing great in grad school) but a few things about me have changed..

In 1 year I have lost 75 pounds (ok 74 but if rounding up was ever justified, this qualifies...) I have gone from size 26-28/3x to a size 18-20/XL... I had wanted to lose 100 pounds this year so I missed my goal. I can't feel bad though, weight loss has been consistent and slow... And I know I will keep it off this time. This has never been a diet. This is a permanent lifestyle change.

I struggle to lose a pound a week now - some weeks a half pound, some weeks no loss. So it will probably take me another two years to lose the other 75 pounds. I'll get there.... Then I'll reassess. But honestly, losing half my body weight is enough of a goal to start with...

The diabetes is coming under control. I should be close to 6 if not at 6 on my next A1C test in 2 weeks. That's almost a miracle... Then comes the scary weight loss part for diabetics - backing OFF the meds as I continue to lose weight... Hope I achieve that goal, too.

Hubby has lost over 20 pounds just because of the changes I've made. (Lucky man to be married to me!) I've learned so much and met some terrific people. I feel better and I'm moving better. And its been surprisingly pain free to learn to eat differently...

Work the plan. See the results. I can do this.

My Goals:
Becoming more healthy
- eating better
- losing weight
- becoming more active (don't call it exercise - you'll scare me...)


My Program:
1. Record my food and stick to a weight loss plan. (target wight loss in 25 lb increments)
2. Be kind and take better care of myself.
3. Reach out socially to friends especially activities that don't focus on food.
4. Be more active.



Personal Information:
Work-aholic working on a computer all day. I'm limiting myself to 45 hours a week and reaching out to friends to fill the extra time...

Avid collector of antique clutter... We enjoy looking for the right piece to add to the display(s).

Mostly Sedentry Hobbies that I enjoy alone - reading, sewing, knitting, watching TV... Trying to be more social and be more active.
