Our lives are defined by opportunities, even the ones we miss

Hello, my name is Racheal. I have been married for 13+ years and have a 7 year old daughter and soon to be 3 yr old son and a new baby girl. I am 34 and have decided to take back my body for myself, my family, and my health. I have a very full schedule, as do most moms.

Hello, my name is Racheal. I have been married for 13+ years and have a 7 year old daughter and soon to be 3 yr old son and a new baby girl. I am 34 and have decided to take back my body for myself, my family, and my health. I have a very full schedule, as do most moms.

I started my SP journey a few years ago after watching something on Good Morning America about the success of people using the site. I played with it off and on for the last few years. It seemed like every time I would drop 15 pounds or so, I would get pregnant. LOL. No seriously, this happened with both my kids. I can say that SP was a blessing because my husband and I struggled with getting pregnant. And the docs couldnt find anything wrong with either one of us to explain our struggles either. But I would magically get pregnant without really trying once I dropped the weight. Amazing I know.

So after my son was born in 2009 I started in again but had some difficulties balancing calories in vs calories out and almost lost my milk supply for him as a result. So I waited until he was fully weaned and started in again 1/22/10 (date coincided with our companys internal Biggest Loser campaing). I went on to win that battle, but not the war. After losing close to 30 lbs I gained back about 10 or so. I got complacent and didnt work out as intensely or frequently and quit watching my calories. BIG MISTAKE! I completed my first 1/2 Marathon in November 2010 and was training for a Full to take place in January 2011. However, due to unforeseen circumstances my training got put on hold. Boo! I know, no excuses; right?!

To make my long story short; By the time I celebrated my latest 1 yr sparkversary, I have lost at or close to 30 lbs, completed couch to 5k, ran a 5k, ran a 10k, and ran a 1/2 marathon. Now there is no telling what the future will hold. Currently, my husband and I are trying for our 3rd child. So my time here might be short lived. LOL ;-P

--Update 5/2012:I gave birth to our 3rd child on 12/27/11. Since I only gained about 25 lbs in pregnancy, I lost my baby weight rather quickly. Only to regain about 10 lbs when I went back to work. I knew immediately that I needed to get back on track. I started tracking foods and exercising again. Re-started couch to 5k and went on to complete my 3rd Pat Tillman run 4/2012. And I came in less than 1 minute shy of my PR less than 4 months post-partum. :-) Since this is our last child, I need to get this done.PERIOD! LOL

hi Lady, I am posting a new challenge to lose 10 pounds in July come and join me..i need the encouragement, the support of all my spark friends. the link is below. ive been gone way too long and im back and ready to make it happen!

Id like to invite you to join in my challenge to lose 10 pound in July.
i know some of us might be saying 10 pounds? that is too much! cant do it! But i here to tell u i did it for 7 months straight, b4 i got sick with cancer and had dropped out for a yr and a half. if u stay within ur calories that are alotted and if u track everything that passes ur lips u can do it too. I was never one that stayed on a diet more than 3 weeks at a time, and then I'd get discouraged and dropped off. i lost 75 pounds just doing calorie counting and tracking to make sure i never went over. i barely exercised ...i am handicapped and i cant do exercises in the conventional way but i flapped my arms while sitting and leg raises. very minimal stuff. the idea was to keep moving and i did that. so i know with disipline, encouragement and motivation u can too.. so i invite u to come and join me on my 10 pound challenge!

click on link below! or if that doesnt work cut and paste it! please join me on my new journey to begin again!!

Thank you so much for your support/encouragement on my blog. I am really excited to run the Pat Tillman race. It will be my 3rd race. I picked up my package on Wednesday. You have really motivated me to aim for running a half marathon by year end. Today I ran with a friend and she pushed me and I actually ran 6 miles. We will have to let each other know how we did in the race. Keep at it, one step at a time, a pound at a time. Every bit counts.

Thanks so much for the comment and support on my blog! I really appreciate it! Keep fighting; I know you'll blow past 165 in no time! When I read your comment I was like oh man I know how that feels! I was stuck at 163 for MONTHS. But I kept chugging and got past it and I know you will too!!! Hope you get your run in today! c:
