Working Toward a Healthy Lifestyle

My eating habits are out of control and want to get them back to healthy lifestyle.   Was in a car accident.  Lots of struggles to get back to being healthy both physically and mentally.

My Goals:
I reached my goal of loosing 50. Now comes the next goal and that is to keep it off.  I would love to have a right relationship with food instead of bingeing.  I use food to comfort myself when going through depressing times.  I belong to a Christian 12 step Overcomers Outreach group which deals with all kinds of addictions.  Food is my addiction as well as being a co-dependent.

My Program:
At present I don't have a program in place.

Personal Information:
My name is Dorothy and I am from Canada.  My husband's name is Barry.  We have been married for 27 years this Nov/08.   This is our second marriage.  With Jesus' help we have a good marriage.  We have no children between us.  Barry has 2 daughters from his previous marriage and I had one child from my previous marriage.  My son is home in heaven with Jesus.

Other Information:
Rom 10:13  "For, Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved."   My husband and I are born again Christians and we are both on a healing path that deals with past issues.  Jesus has been faithful to provide healings.  It has been a long painful journey but it has been a good journey to see the difference made in our lives.  My desire is to be healed so that I can have a right relationship with food.  To eat food only to nurish my body rather than binge eating - which is an addiction just like alcohol/drugs etc are.

I am evaluating my motives this month and getting them firmed up in my mind and heart. It is making a huge difference for me, knowing why I am doing what I am doing. How about you? Commitment to the journey is greatly helped by a constant flow of understanding the reasons behind the steps taken.
