2013 and beyond
I have learned in my 57 years that this weight loss / maintenance / health achievement goal is NOT a journey. Journeys have beginnings and endings...........we set our sites on a destination and focus on reaching the destination rather than on the experience of the journey itself. I look at all of this as more of an adventure. As with all adventures, some parts of it are fun, exciting, and enjoyable, while some parts of it are frustrating and full of unanticipated disappointments. ...
I have learned in my 57 years that this weight loss / maintenance / health achievement goal is NOT a journey. Journeys have beginnings and endings...........we set our sites on a destination and focus on reaching the destination rather than on the experience of the journey itself. I look at all of this as more of an adventure. As with all adventures, some parts of it are fun, exciting, and enjoyable, while some parts of it are frustrating and full of unanticipated disappointments. Adventures, however, do not end - they just take different roads allowing us to face whatever is down that road with courage and anticipation about what lies ahead. It's now April of 2013, and the adventure has taken me down many pot hole-filled roads already. I've allowed the pot holes to derail me and I've allowed circumstances to be excuse-makers. I have also been pretty tough on the lady in the mirror.............. Here's to moving beyond the pot holes, side-stepping them, filling them in, and taking the road.................!!!!!

My Goals:

My Program:
Counting calories, portion-control, and increasing exercise are things that have worked well for me as long as I deep doing them! I also want, this year, to be more serious about adding ST to my exercise program.
Personal Information:
My name is Linda, and I live in Central Ohio. I'm 57, I'm a nurse, and have finally learned to appreciate my own health. What I still haven't learned is to take better care of me by putting myself first in the "taking care of" department. That's a very hard thing to do and I plan on trying to be better about it in 2013.
Other Information:
I love to travel, love to camp, and love to bike (as in the pedal kind!). I also love to read but don't do nearly as much of it as I should!
