Lisa's Quest

Update: I began working part time this past February in order to accomodate my class schedule for school. Things were so busy/hectic at work, that pretty much every day I was off work, work was calling me and asking me to come in. I went back to work full time in March, skipping half of my classes at school. I managed to pull a "B" in the class despite not being able to study well for the exams.

I am frustrated with my body and its refusal to lose weight. I have been diagnosed with Hypothyroidism for many years, and my TSH and T4 levels are now fine. My T3 level is still low, and I still continue to gain weight despite eating well and exercising. My MD started me on Cytomel to bring up my T3 level. I am hoping it will eventually help me to start losing again.

I began this quest because I knew if I didn't, that I would eventually completely destroy my health. I wanted to be able to spend good, quality time with my kids. At my weight, there was no way. Walking already left me out of breath.

I have been a member of SP for 2 1/2 years. I just received my copy of "The Spark" and am looking forward to reading it and getting re-inspired and re-educated. The challenge as always will be juggling family, work, school and time for myself to work out and exercise properly and eat healthy when there is so much junk at work. I am determined to be a success though and know that I can be with support from my fellow Sparkers and my family.

Roman!

Spark isn't a fan of the HGH diet, so if human Growth Hormone is involved, its prolly better to err on the safe side and write about it.

If it doesn't involve HGH, then just give the caveat that its a 700 calorie diet first so that people know that upfront... also that the 700 calorie range is for a limited time only. I am assuming bc its you, that the meals are healthy... like you said chicken and steamed broccoli... you might want to give a sample of a day's worth of food.

Also include any vitamins/minerals that go along with it. I would prolly give a general outline of the diet, a day's worth of food... then add stuff as people ask questions.

I hear ya about how hard it is to be eating healthy when those around you are feasting on foods you love in quantities above what anyone should by rights be able to eat! Particularly men and kids, its like they have a hollow leg or something. ha SO annoying!

Anyways, this is a BIG project, thanks for taking it on and if you reconsider, that's okay too!

Got to get to the gym its weightlifting and yoga this morning!
Have a fun one...

PS another idea would be for you to blog about your diet plan, do a short post on the Forum about it, and include a link to your blog where you can go into more detail. Argh, I gotta go or I'll be late...

hey Roman!
Ya, I remember when you first joined our Team, your post about the way you cook, make bread, etc, you sounded like a kitchen whiz/earth goddess type with all the fabulous things you were breawing basting steaming roasting baking in your kitchen!

I don't know what it is about grains, though.
Some people thrive on them, but me and grains... kiss my waistline goodbye!

In my case, too, eating gluten for years, not realizing that gluten intolerance wasn't just something you "outgrew"r, made for a leaky gut and possibly was the trigger for my hypothyroid disease. UGH.

Anyways, here's to your continued success and if you ever have time to write out your program in a post for our forum, that would just be delightful!
We have so many good women on our team who are suffering... anything we can share that is helpful is appreciated.

Have a great week!
