Making Changes!

The last 9 months have seen some changes in my life. I had a slight boating accident resulting in a compression fracture of a vertebrae (I am now 1.5 inches shorter). I have recovered about 95% from that and continue to make progress. Heart disease has reared it's ugly head in my family once again. So I am now on a heart healthy diet, about 90% of the time. Yes, I am making progress on many fronts but still have more to do.

My Goals:
Enter a summary of your goals, or just a few you would like to share.

Increase my water intake. At least 8 glasses a day!


Eat fewer sweets, a hard one because I love to bake.

No evening snacks after dinner.

Walk at least 4X per week.


A minimum of 15 minutes of exercise per day, this is in addition to walking.

Take vitamins every day.



My Program:
My program is pretty basic with aerobic plus strength training.
I also look at how colorful my plate is when I eat. The more colorful the better!

Personal Information:
I live on the Canadian border in Northern New York on the St. Lawrence River near Lake Ontario. I don't live on the water but I am close enough to smell it!

I am also trying to stay on a heart healthy diet... watching all the salt that is in everything is tough! But we can do this! :)

I heard from sparkpeople and yes, that is exactly what it is time that fitbit syncs. Interesting since I am horrible about posting my activity to spark or even syncing my fitbit to spark so it must seen I don't move at all.

I have heard several people comment about that and we think it has something to do with our fitbits but we're not sure. I posted a ? with spark asking but haven't heard yet.

Thanks for stopping by my page to read and comment on my "Our Newest House Project" blog. The incinerator was originally on an outside wall, when the house was remodeled and a room added (before we moved in) the people evidently decided it would be easier just to wall up the incinerator instead of trying to get rid of it. It's a good thing it's Rod trying to remove it and not me because I'm pretty claustrophobic and it's a really small space that he's working in.
