I like sweetened coffee and had a high blood glucose reading one day after having some. The sweetener packets say it has dextrose in it. Sometimes I use Torani syrup in my coffee. We couldn't find it at the store where we had purchase it before and I bought some Tate Lyle. It has cellulose gum and sucralose (Splenda) in it.
I only eat 20 carbs a day and don't buy low fat stuff. I eat fats to fill up and the ketogenic way of eating causes the body to burn fat. I eat bacon, pepperoni and salami in addition to eating regular meat. I know what you mean though about low-fat. 182 days ago
Your profile pic is the inspiration for the birthday cake that I am going to make for myself today. It is such a healthy beautiful option. I was searching for something that would make my celebration special and there you were in all your fruity goodness. As the caption says, "Who needs cake?" Wonderful. Thanks for sharing the goodness. -Nancy Living Low Carb team mate 186 days ago
Just checking on you! I see you're celebrating a 5th anniversary That's the kind of example we all need! -- you're doing the "Winston Churchill": "Never give up; never give up; never give up!" I wonder if "rewarding" yourself has been a concept that is working for you. A couple months ago, you posted a really elegant and insightful reply to me about the rewards of exercising and other self-disciplines -- although you hadn't actually considered before in that way. I was really hoping you'd go into some more detail. As the Administrator of the LC 50+ Ladies team, I'm aware that so many of us view exercise as something we tend to avoid rather than cherish. And I think you have something to teach me/us on this subject. Since you are still a member of this team, would you post on the monthly thread some more of your thoughts? I think it would be really helpful and I know I for one would appreciate it! I'm trying to gear myself up to be more self-disciplined.....
