A Little Time For Me!

I am a caregiver for my disabled husband, my Mom and my Dad. I have worked outside the home also for 31 years and was forced into retirement by losing my job due to the office closing. I realized that I have been taking care of everyone else and not myself. I found out I have CAD and now have to do something to help myself or I won't be here to take care of anyone else.

It seems like many of us face a continual battle to stay positive when little progress is apparent. We just have to keep in mind that we our efforts will result in a healthier life. We need to focus on how we are feeling and the energy we have to accomplish daily life tasks. I’m working hard to concentrate on my health rather than just on the number on the scale; to concentrate on non-scale victories to help me stay positive every day.

I’m on day 10 of changing my life and this is definitely a difficult journey. I am not a good decision maker and tend to opt for immediate gratification and comfort. I am struggling with making mindful decisions about the food I eat or don’t eat. I am not doing as well as I should be in that area although I have consistently gotten in exercise minutes each day. I was looking for quotes to motivate myself to think before making any decision and these two caught my eye. I think the messages they contain are both so important to us all!
I hope you are staying healthy and active as we enter this new year of new choices and new successes.
