Changing my relationship with food

I am 60 yrs old, 5'3" tall and weigh just around 9stone - so I'm in the 'healthy' range. My issue is less being fat, and more about my relationship with food.

I am learning to manage my behaviour around food with the NoS diet which is working well for me. Three 'proper meals' a day - no snacks, sweets or seconds on weekdays - with some freedom at the weekends and on special days like birthdays. Good old-fashioned regular eating pattern! My behaviour around food is being modified ...

Three 'proper meals' a day - no snacks, sweets or seconds on weekdays - with some freedom at the weekends and on special days like birthdays. Good old-fashioned regular eating pattern! My behaviour around food is being modified very happily with this system. So glad I found it. Check out the NoS team page if you're curious!

I want to be fit, supple, happy, healthy, full of energy!
I'm keen to be lean!

The One Year Challenge on my ticker is a Linda Spangle thing - check her website for more info - it's basically committing to a year of using the 100 Days of Weight Loss book to stay on track to learn to manage emotional eating issues

I've also noticed that a lot of my status updates are about the weather - very British!

Hi Gill! The forest picture and status update was from Wednesday night walk. I had a tough day and sought out sanctuary in the forest. I found it. After my 2 mile walk, I sat at the trailhead and read until it got too dark. Morning run picture would have been of the rowers on the calm lake.

Thank you for the helping hand goodie-- his name was Todd. Todd is a local youth programs leader. To me, and most of the community, he's known as the most patient man in the world. He maned the barbecue.

I certainly don't think your a "nosy" person :)

Thank you.

Thank you for all the caring words you added to my Saturday in the Park . . . blog. These are trigger days for my sadness, and I'm a long way from "getting over" them. I mindfully sought out small up-lifting and joyful moments to fill my day yesterday. The opportunity to be with family was well timed. I put the same mindful attention to the time I spent them.

The hardest part of the day was sitting on that beach not able to focus on my sadness. I was distracted by other thoughts. So, I sat with them for a while. It helped me to understand that they where just other forms of sadness like want and regret. Even as I write this I understand them better. Thank you for indulging me.

My son is always saying, "Sorry, I though I told you." He lives WITH me. This gathering of family and friends is happening here. At my house. I held onto the idea that he intended to host the event and didn't involve me to spare me added stress. No. "Sorry, I though I told you." He really wants me to play host. And . . . be the cook.

I know this is his way of dealing with his sadness. But, sometimes I just want . . . oops

Thank you.

Sounds good - I take it it's walking in place and not on a treadmill?
