2013. Successfully Maintaining 1+ years
When I was 29 (2011), I was approaching my 30th birthday at my heaviest weight ever, and I was incredibly unhappy about a lot of things. Namely I was upset about having lost my grandpa with very few pictures of him and I together, and facing the fact that I likely had very few years left with my grandma, and I had very few pictures of us too. I had always deleted pictures with me in them because I was so disgusted by how I looked, and I can't ever get those back. So I finally woke up and ...
When I was 29 (2011), I was approaching my 30th birthday at my heaviest weight ever, and I was incredibly unhappy about a lot of things. Namely I was upset about having lost my grandpa with very few pictures of him and I together, and facing the fact that I likely had very few years left with my grandma, and I had very few pictures of us too. I had always deleted pictures with me in them because I was so disgusted by how I looked, and I can't ever get those back. So I finally woke up and started using Spark People the way it was meant to be used. I had been a member for many years prior, but had never made a true effort to track food/exercise consistently or long-term. So I started with setting small goals - 25 pounds by my birthday (April), and after I met that goal, I wanted to lose another 10 pounds by my college graduation (June), then 15 pounds by the end of the year (my ultimate goal weight). A little at a time is how I lost 50 pounds. So by the end of 2011 I was 30 years old and weighing in at my high school weight, with a few 5Ks under my belt (seriously - me, the person who "can't" run), and feeling pretty amazing. I maintained that through 2012, and intend on doing so again in 2013. Hello continuing health. I'm so glad we found each other.

Personal Information:
I may be Jillian Michaels' biggest fan. I highly recommend her workouts, and they were my main exercises for the bulk of my weight-loss endeavors. I am a RUNNER. I am learning to love new fruits and veggies!
