Struggling to get started again

In 2007 I lost 23lb using SP. in 2011 I suffered a hip injury which restricted my activity level and resulted in surgery and long recovery. Needless to say I gained some weight. However a few months after my surgery I had a mysterious weight loss of nearly 30 pounds over about a year and a half. The doctors never figured out the cause. During that time I could eat anything and everything and continued to lose. I knew it would not last. And it didn''''t. I have since gained most of the weight ...

Because losing that weight was effortless, I am struggling with the idea of tracking food intakeand watching what I eat.
Exercise is much easier for me because it is something I''''ve always done even through the past few years which included two hip surgeries. I won''''t say it wasn''''t a struggle but I was in pain whether I exercised or not. So I might as well exercise. I am getting ready to have my hip replaced in April. I hope this is the end of my pain. I am going to the gym in hopes of a speedy recovery.

My Goals:
Get back to 150-lbs by May 15, 2015.
Weight train and cardio 3 times a week each.
Cut out evening snacking or at least make better choices.
Track my nutrition (especially fruits and veggies as well as fiber) and water intake.

My Program:
Cardio workout 3X / week plus strength training.
Exercise
Watch portion size.
Reduce snacking. Increase protein and fiber.
Decrease carbs and fats.
DRINK MORE WATER.

Personal Information:
I live in MD at the Northern end of the Chesapeake. I live here with my husband, Bill and our pets; Bodi, a Vizsla mix, Bones an English Pointer with too much energy, Sammi (needs Kitty SP) and Syd (feral kitty).

I am a freelance writer -- I have many published articles. including pieces on health, wellness and fitness. Recently, I have been concentrating my efforts on travel writing.

I enjoy doing pottery and gardening.
