Promethial's Virtual Attempt

Body of a blacksmith, the mind of a rocket scientist.

I've been cursed with the need to work harder than most to maintain my body. The challenges are many. I've never been able to find a happy medium between what I do for a living and what my body seems to need in activity.

I'm in a flux at the moment in my life that allows me to re-examine a lot. I'm taking advatange of that to move forward and improve on a few things that I previously let lapse.

2nd New Quote from me, for everyone:

"Just know that you will never reach a summit if you falter the first time the path becomes seemingly broken. Most of the time its a matter of looking at where you already came from to be able to see where the path is that leads to the top again." -- Prom.

My Goals:
I find myself at a cross roads. I'm helping my family why they are keeping me from a complete wipe out. So while I'm watching them go through some real life changing events, I am attempting to reform my own life while I'm in this limbo.

Short list: stop smoking, lose weight, feel better about my own body image, find some form of employment in this new town.

My Program:
Start each day with not smoking. Sounds easy unless you've really liked smoking ... So using Nicorette as a helper. 12 weeks and counting. Almost done with gum but I have to make it a little further I think than planned thanks to some other stressors. No sence causing worse problems. 3 or 4 peices max a day is not too bad, or costly. :)

Been doing some outside projects for neighbors and that helps keep me physically busy. Heavy lifting, moving metric tons of earth, carpentry, etc.

Support from family. Basically its been 3 active months in the making.

Next step was to join here. Randomly found myself here to boot.

Personal Information:
OCD, migraines, new found love of lower back pain from car wreck years ago ...

It doesnt get more personal than that. :)

Wonderful how things define us sometimes. Those seem to be the ones that best cover the basics.

Other Information:
Coastal Texas is like Florida. Except it is more relaxed.

Still not able to relax here though. Working on that.

In the past for this event they have still held it even with snow and ice... if there is I'll just be walking it :)
Hopefully our forecast is true- by the end of the week we should be warming up into the low 40's- which is where we normally are this time of year.

Love your joy elephant Promethial.
Just read nearly your entire blog from start.

I skipped a few of your pages and Man have you calmed down, yes you have!

Congratulations on an honest blog, and on your freedom from nicotine.
The way you express feelings in those first few blog pages reminds me of the craziness I went through each attempt I made to quit nicotine.

if you can beat that, you can achieve anything you desire mate!
Here is to healthful choices.

PS I also suffer from heat and live in Oz where summer seems to sart in spring and extend into late autum these days...
PPS if you are interested in forever kicking cigs in the butt, Whyquit.com just for re enforcement of your decision their forum Freedom from nicotine ROCKS!

Thanks for the b log comment! Problem for me with sunsets instead of sun salutations is my brain won't shut up for more than 20 seconds during a sunset! LOL It needs to be put through it's paces and have something else to focus on in order to be quiet! Maybe one day!
