I'm Mishelle and I've been an active member of Spark for the last 8 YEARS! I first joined to lose weight before my wedding and loved the program. At my lowest, I had lost almost 60 pounds! I've had some ups and downs since then, but I've never returned to my starting weight since I joined - Spark works. I was always the "fat kid" growing up: I was the youngest member of my Weight Watchers group when I joined at 17, and the weight was back within 6 months. SP helps me keep it off!

Even though I'm only 32, I've struggled with bursitis in both of my hips for about 3 years, which is a result of standing up (and not being allowed to sit) during my 11-14 hour shifts at work. It's painful and SO frustrating that sometimes finding activity I can do is a challenge. There's no real cure for bursitis, but I've been able to get it under control so I can exercise again - YAY!!!

I've been married for almost 8 years, and we've finally decided to start planning for a baby (although not for awhile still!) and I am 100% determined to improve my health so I can improve my chances of a healthy pregnancy and live a longer life overall! I know I can do this, I've done it before, and I need to MAKE IT HAPPEN!

My Goals:
Long term goal: lose another 50 lbs by Sept 3, 2014.

Medium range goal: lose 15lbs by May 8th.

Short term goal: lose 2 lbs per week.

My Program:
My program changes from time to time, but I'm really focused on a few basic things:

1. Track calories daily and stay within my range 80% of the time (about 6 days a week)

2. Exercise 3-4x per week, depending on my work schedule.

3. Stay hydrated and well-rested.

4. Practice positive affirmations, be kind to myself no matter what happens.

Personal Information:
I'm an Oregon native living in the Portland metro area. I love reality TV, craft beer, a good glass of wine and home improvement projects. I've been married for 8 years and we have an adorable 8-year-old house bunny that we spoil rotten.

Other Information:
I believe there is no reason for us all not to reach our goals with SP. I have met all the other goals I have set for myself for education, career, etc, so why should getting to my goal weight and living healthy be any different? ITS NOT! WE WILL ALL MAKE IT!

Haven't heard from you in a bit.. How are things going? Are you getting water and exercise in. I'm doing ok.. although this last week or 2 is getting harder due to Christmas quickly approaching my days are getting busier.

I'm so happy that you had a wonderful Thanksgiving and that you treated yourself a wee bit too, because that's what the holiday time is all about. Not making piggies of ourselves, but having tastes to satisfy the craving that is natural for now. I did well too, and didn't do bad at all. Pretty well all low carb, but then I made up for it once we got back home. And every day since hasn't been that great but not bad either. You and I can both work hard to make another loss to our journeys! emoticon emoticon

Thanks for the ideas about the water... I definitely will give them a try! How are things going with you? How was your Thanksgiving ?
So did your weigh in go well? I have to do mine tomorrow, I truly don't think it's going to go well.

I'm so sorry that you've been sick the last while. Hopefully that tea and honey helped speed up the process. I have to admit that I sure have been eating alot of candy lately. Candy corn on sale? Yep, that was me who bought it or actually my DH!! Can't blame him though because I'm the one who ate it. And of course, that made my Sat. weigh-in up about 4# from the last one. So I know that there will be no more sweets for me for a long time. I don't really want to make any Christmas cookies this year because I get so tempted and the only ones that my family love are the really yummy calorie-laden ones!! Sometimes I feel like I'm between a rock and a hard place. My family loves the yummy comfort food that so full of fat and calories and it's so tough on me to sit and eat like a rabbit all the time. I try to Smart Ones half the time and that works but I can't do that every day either. Any tips? I'm beside myself! We can do better I know! My birthday's on the 25th and then T-day on the 27th and then the whole Schmoodle starts! I'll just do the best I know how! I know that you will too!
