"No matter how slow you go, you are still lapping everybody on the couch!"

I'm Mishelle and I've been an active member of Spark since 2006! I first joined to lose weight before my wedding and loved the program. At my lowest, I had lost almost 60 pounds! I've had some ups and downs since then, but I've never returned to my starting weight since I joined - Spark works. I was always the "fat kid" growing up: I was the youngest member of my Weight Watchers group when I joined at 17, and the weight was back within 6 months. SP helps me keep it off!

Even though I'm only 31, I've struggled with bursitis in both of my hips for about 2 years, which is a result of standing up (and not being allowed to sit) during my 11-14 hour shifts at work. It's painful and SO frustrating that sometimes finding activity I can do is a challenge. There's no real cure for bursitis, but I've been able to get it under control so I can exercise again - YAY!!!

I've been married for almost 7 years, and we've finally decided to start planning for a baby (although not for awhile still!) and I am 100% determined to improve my health so I can improve my chances of a healthy pregnancy and live a longer life overall! I know I can do this, I've done it before, and I need to MAKE IT HAPPEN!

My Goals:
Long term goal: reach goal weigh (59lbs to go) before 2013 is over. Be ready to discuss trying to get pregnant!

Medium range goal: lose 15 lbs by June 8th.

Short term goal: lose 2 lbs per week.

My Program:
My program changes from time to time, but I'm really focused on a few basic things:

1. Track calories daily and stay within my range 80% of the time
2. Do Spark Coach daily.
3. Exercise 2-3x per week, depending on my work schedule.
4. Practice positive affirmations every day

Personal Information:
I live just outside Portland, Oregon, where I run a veterinary clinic by day and also own Pinky's Paper Crafts - a website for my custom handmade scrapbooks and party accessories. I love reality TV, wine and crafting. I've been married for 6 years and we have an adorable 5-year-old bunny named Pancakes!

Other Information:
I believe there is no reason for us all not to reach our goals with SP. I have met all the other goals I have set for myself for education, career, etc, so why should getting to my goal weight and living healthy be any different? ITS NOT! WE WILL ALL MAKE IT!

Thanks. emoticon becaue we are both in control. I think your goal to not go overboad is great. How was the party and how did you do?

Two great starts for me today. First, I didn't wake up with a headache this morning for the first time in nine days. Then I stepped on the scale. I was down 5 pounds. That puts me back to where I was before the conference. Yesterday I had gained 5 pounds since the conference, but it must have been mostly water. I stuck to program yesterday but didn't exercise so this is great news. I will be able to exercise today since I am not in so much knee pain and have no headache.

Let's both set a goal to eat clean and workout today. I'll was going to yesterday and clean my office, but I stayed in bed all day. In addition to the headache my knees were very painful. I did get a lot of work done so the day wasn't a waste.

Talk to you tomorrow. Make a great Sunday.

OK, you are doing better than I am. You can loose 7 pounds for yur vacation. I believe in you.

I on the other hand am up six pounds thanks to the conference, info day at work, and date night. I have until 1 month from today to fit into my wedding dress so I can't have any more exceptions or excuses. My headach is better today so I'm going to try some cardio and start the wedding workout. I hope my knees will handle it.

Looking forward to your check-in today. emoticon

Since I had to get up and out of the hours by 6:30 am and didn't get home until 7:30 pm I did do any cardio yesterday. I at well for breakfast and lunch but it was so late when I got home I ate leftover pizza for dinner. Not so good. Still have the migraine so I may go to the chiropractor today if I can get in. We have date night tonight and are going to a dinner theater so I figure I'll eat light for breakfast and lunch so I can splurge at dinner. Tomorrow I can get back on track eating. If I feel better I may try some cardio. We'll see.

Thanks for the advice. it helped me plan for tonight. How are you doing?

Sorry I haven't been checking in with you. I haven't felt well since I got home from the conference. I have a migraine I can't shake so I haven't been cooking or exercising. I didn't weigh because I know I gained weight. I'm pretty down and usually I'm only on campus one day a week. This week I am at one campus two days and tomorrow I have a long day at our satelite campus 100 miles from me. Maybe by Friday I will feel better.

How are you doing? I keep thinking about you.

Thanks for your comment! It's nice to know that other people understand this. I've struggled so much with anxiety and depression as a result of this injury and all of it effects my weight and my health! I am going to keep to my calorie burned plan but just plan to do other activities. If I need to do more hours of work I will get there darnit!

:)
