Shared Fitness Tracker
I am a 63-year-old (update: 67 in March 2016) female with a myriad of health issues, many of which will be vastly improved with a healthier lifestyle. I am keenly interested in using the nutrition tracker to develop a balanced food plan for myself in spite of my multiple food allergies. Additional allergies I deal with include MCS - Multiple Chemical Sensitivities along with Environmental Allergies.
Glad to be here!

Added 09 Mar 2013 - I recently found my framed version of the following which I read daily in the 1970's. Time to remind myself of this daily:
Go placidly amid the noise and haste,
and remember what peace there may be in silence.
As far as possible, without surrender, be on good terms with all persons.
Speak your truth quietly and clearly; and listen to others,
even to the dull and ignorant; they too have their story.
Avoid loud and aggressive persons; they are vexations to the spirit.
If you compare yourself with others, you may become vain or bitter,
for always there will be greater and lesser persons than yourself.
Enjoy your achievements as well as your plans.
Keep interested in your own career, however humble,
it's a real possession in the changing fortunes of time.
Exercise caution in your business affairs, for the world is full of trickery.
But let this not blind you to what virtue there is;
many persons strive for high ideals, and everywhere life is full of heroism.
Especially do not feign affection. Neither be cynical about love;
for in the face of all aridity and disenchantment,
it is as perennial as the grass.
Take kindly the counsel of the years,
gracefully surrendering the things of youth.
Nurture strength of spirit to shield you in sudden misfortune.
But do not distress yourself with dark imaginings.
Many fears are born of fatigue and loneliness.
Beyond a wholesome discipline, be gentle with yourself.
You are a child of the universe no less than the trees and the stars;
you have a right to be here.
And whether or not it is clear to you,
no doubt the universe is unfolding as it should.
Therefore be at peace with God, whatever you conceive him to be.
And whatever your labors and aspirations, in the noisy confusion of life,
keep peace in your soul.
With all its sham, drudgery and broken dreams, it is still a beautiful world.
Be cheerful. Strive to be happy.

There is a destiny that makes us all brothers.
None goes his way alone.

Comes back into our own.

I wanted to add that I hope you will also find the Pain Free book helpful as I did. The first few chapters explain how the body works and how we need to move (one friend didn't want to read all that and just jump into the exercises but I feel it is important to understand, and Egoscue also gives general tips in there too), and then the rest of the book is broken into individual "body" chapters - back, hips, knees, ankles, etc. - to specifically explain those areas and what exercises to do for each. I have shared the book and shown the exercises to other friends of mine with problems, and they have also found it helpful.
If there are exercises you feel uncomfortable trying at first, start with something you think you can manage and go slowly. This is never a race. It is about gently and gradually strengthening your body and developing flexibility, and getting your joints lubricated and releasing stiffness and inflammation.
Also, Pete Egoscue's therapy business sells exercise "accessories" for the exercises but I did not buy any. I found ways with my doctor of improvising - for example, instead of buying 'BLOCKS" to use for hip and back exercises, I use my coffee table or a chair to rest my legs upon (you'll see in the book). If you have any questions, feel free to ask me. I wish you the best with this.
